Spanish Seaside Bridal Inspiration

I visited Spain years ago but the vibrancy of that region still remains strong in my memories. With the oranges and sunny colors, I was transported then, and once again here, with this photo shoot by Renee Hollingshead. The Boutique Wedding Co. created a beautiful beach scene, complete with Poppy & Scooter invites and some delightful desserts. Get swept away with all the colorful creations right here.

From Renée Hollingshead Photography… When I booked my first trip to Europe, I knew I had to find a way to photograph internationally. I had dreamed of visiting Spain ever since I studied Spanish in high school. After researching planners in each of our destinations during our backpacking trip, I came across Lucy of The Boutique Wedding Co. I was immediately excited when she expressed interest and we planned to skip our day in Madrid to travel to Malaga for a romantic Spanish shoot.

We e-mailed, skyped, and planned ideas for our Coastal Spanish Romance shoot for weeks. Inspired by Pantone’s Spring 2015 colors, we opted for a very vibrant Strawberry Ice and Tangerine against the blue skies of the Andalucian Coast of Spain. Oranges are local to this region this time of year, so it was the perfect element to include. Lucy gathered an incredible team of vendors including a handmade gown by Claudia Arrieta and beautiful jewelry from Meriko London.

Fast forward a few months later and I’m finally in Spain. After leaving the train station I was in complete awe of this beautiful city. Rolling hills right on a beautiful coast, I didn’t want to leave! Malaga was indeed the perfect location for our coastal shoot and everything I had hoped it would be. I was completely blown away by all the beautiful details Lucy put together including vintage items passed down from her family, natural olive and lavender garlands right from their neighborhood, dip-dyed lace, and beautiful florals. Poppy & Scooter provided a gorgeous invitation suite complete with gold calligraphy and hand-painted citrus designs to match our look. It was hands-down one of the prettiest shoots I’ve ever seen. We photographed right until the end of sunset before getting back on a train to Madrid. I truly left my heart in Spain and I cannot wait to get back and work with this talented team again.

Colorful + Chic Spanish Villa Wedding

From kicking off the festivities with their rehearsal dinner, to uniting a global guestbook in Spain, this impossibly cute couple tied the knot with plenty of style. Amongst cobblestone streets and colorful houses, Sandra Åberg captured their emotional ceremony complete with a traditional exchange of coins. Holland Flowers adorned the evening at Villa Poniente, and you can see it all here!

From Sandra Aberg… This impossibly cute couple chose to bring their friends and family from all around the world to the most quaint little chapel in an area of Marbella known as La Virginia to tie the knot with a collision of American, Dutch/Flemish, and Spanish traditions and style.

The cobblestone streets and colorful houses made the perfect backdrop for the bride’s walk to the church with her father. An emotional and extremely warm ceremony was capped off with a traditional exchange of coins.

The reception was held at the gorgeous Villa Poniente, where the bride and groom spent an entire week with their friends enjoying everything that Marbella has to offer. On the day of the wedding, the grounds at the villa were transformed into an outdoor lounge, complete with large pillows and cosy blankets to add a moroccan boho feel. Giant teepees and countless lanterns added to the ambience throughout the night.

The laid back couple was anything but traditional and a classic Austin Mini Moke was their choice for a wedding car. They had a blast bombing around the streets of Marbella in that little thing, and it was so fun to see a couple who dared to just be themselves and do things their way.

It goes without saying that this couple’s engagement session and rehearsal dinner, kept the same theme were just as incredible as their wedding day.

Seaside Spanish Engagement Session & Rehearsal Dinner

I love the idea of having a fun photo shoot to kick off your wedding weekend. This adorable couple was already dressed up and in a celebratory mood, as Sandra Aberg captured their smiles and the stunning Spanish sights, before their rehearsal dinner where wine was poured and toasts made. We’re getting a look at all the amazing festivities that happened the next day at their wedding later on today but for now, I’m quite happy to plant myself here and soak up every perfect pre-wedding pic.

From Sandra Aberg… We met Jessica & Ian on the beach. They looked so cute in their boho chic outfits and I think it comes through in the images just how much they enjoy each other’s company. We got to ride through the streets of Marbella with them in the back of their Austin Mini Moke. And we even managed to squeeze in some photos in the famous Porta Banus harbour on an 80 year old sailboat and a six story yacht.

Jessica & Ian’s rehearsal dinner was one for the ages. The dinner was held at Ian’s father’s summer home, so far up on the hill that you can see Morocco on a clear day. The sprawling backyard was adorned with countless blooming African lilies. Guests were treated to a welcome drink and snacks, and a horse and dog show by Santi Serra Camps, and a meal with an incredible selection of food. Long tables were decorated with rosemary and lemons and candles on the sand that had been brought in and transformed the tennis court into a beach setting.

Highlights included the many speeches by the couple’s friends and family. Ian’s father gave the couple a gold bottle of Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades champagne, which he mentioned hip hop stars like Jay Z quite like, so that everyone at the dinner could toast the couple properly.

This collab of gorgeous from Mireia Cordomí and A todo Confetti had me at ‘Mediterranean’. Aptly so seeing as Spain’s Mediterranean coast has long sat near the top of my wanderlist. But it hasn’t been crossed off yet, so I’m living vicariously through this organic goodness. You can almost feel the warm breeze lifting the linens and the glowing sunshine filtering through. See it all here.

From A todo ConfettiWe are so delighted to share with you this Mediterranean styled shoot full of stunning details and a magic atmosphere specially captured on film by Mireia Cordomí in the depths of the Spain countryside.

Held outdoors in the ancient setting of La Torre del Visco, an exclusive stately 15th country house member of Relais&Châteaux transformed into a unique and romantic hotel surrounded by hectares of olives trees, terraces and patios with fountains located in the beautiful setting of the Tastavins river valley.

A gorgeous wooden warm table with white, silver and plenty of green details complete along with an impressive natural runner of olive branches and seeded eucalyptus, pretty stationery, antique crystal glassware with beautiful blooms, metallic gold detailed plates with cream linen napkins and some aromatic homemade bread besides small olive branches all lit by tall candelabras and set under a romantic arch.

The bride’s style is exquisite and simple consisting of a bulky skirt and a wonderful lace top crop made by Catalan haute couture designer Santos Costura. Heavenly shoes and natural and soft makeup, a low bun with a crown braid across the front, an exquisite headpiece and a wild wedding bouquet. To complement the scene, the sunset beauty light reflects and silver props with lush colorful figs, grapes and pomegranates.

Absolutely, a majestic story behind the images where every single detail is truly amazing and we hope you enjoy and can smell the scent of this Mediterranean dream.

Elegant Spanish Hacienda Winter Wedding

I’m eager for an invite to a destination wedding, to attend a celebration like this one here, combining classic elegance with fantastic local flavors. Wedding Venues in Spain took the groom’s heritage and creatively incorporated it with his bride’s stylish eye, and what we get is perfection. Agata Jensen captured it all and I’ll be adding Andalucia to my wanderlust list purely from these photos right here.

From The Bride… Paul and I met while working together in San Diego. After a year of crossing paths we began dating in 2007. One of the things we love doing most is to travel. We often spent time in Spain to visit Paul’s family as he was born there. On our fourth trip back, Paul surprised me with an excursion to Ronda and a stay at the famous Parador hotel. He walked me out on the balcony and began showing me a video he had made of all of our trips over the last six years, it was absolutely amazing. At the end of the video, he got down on one knee and proposed overlooking the Tajo Bridge. I still get chills just thinking about it!

Paul had suggested I look at wedding venues on this trip as we had discussed a potential wedding in Spain before. Coincidentally I had scheduled an appointment to visit the amazing Cortijo Pedro Jimenez the day after he proposed. Paul and I met with Rachel, walked the grounds and fell in love! Fifteen months later we were lucky enough to have all of our family and friends travel from the states to Spain to have the wedding week of a lifetime. For us it was a picture-perfect location for an intimate reunion and wedding. We were able to enjoy breakfast together, pool parties with our entire guest list, and dinner each night under the stars. With the help of all of the vendors everyday was unique and special. We feel so fortunate to have had our wedding in such an intimate and stunning setting with everyone we love.

From Rachel Rose Weddings… Being a part of Ashley and Paul’s wedding was such a pleasure, they are both such friendly and beautiful people and I was very excited to be planning another long distance Californian wedding in Spain. Ashley’s stunning dress was a light blush colour so we opted with neutrals for the florals with accents of gold which featured in vintage frames for the seating plan and other signage. In honour of Paul’s heritage we decided to bring in some traditional Spanish wedding features such as a sherry pourer and a jamon carver and then some more fun elements were added in the form of the cute little white and gold bull shaped escort cards by Nulki Nulks and the mini bottles of Tio Pepe sherry that were given to the wedding guests as favors.
