Malahide Castle Irish Inspiration Shoot

Ireland is the land of dreams to me. So when I came across this stunning Irish shoot captured by D’Arcy Benincosa and styled by Ciara O’Halloran of Style Serendipity I felt I needed to pinch myself. Because this, my lovelies, is so pretty you’ll think you are actually dreaming. Get lost in all the lovely right here.

From D’Arcy BenincosaNothing says Ireland like ancient castles and blushing brides. With the warmest summer here in eighteen years, our stylist found inspiration away from her usual leanings towards muted shades of green and grey and instead, transformed the garden grounds to showcase an affection for sun soaked forest green, offset with aubergine, pale citrus and coral. Malahide Castle has a kaleidoscope influences, owned by the same family for 800 years who filled the ornamental gardens with exotic plants and trees from the world over. With the dazzling sunshine, charming accessories from Avoca and a delicate mantilla lace veil, this classic Irish shoot has all of the Irish history, elegance and heritage you’d expect, but with a twist of Mediterranean magic!

Romantic Irish Wedding Inspiration

A few months back I had the chance to visit Dublin and experience the charm of Ireland for myself. And now thanks to Katie Stoops Photography and Jemma Cassidy my itch to hop a flight and head back is more fierce than ever. They put together this wildly romantic Dublin-based shoot, and the full gallery is the perfect place to kick off your St. Paddy’s celebration.

From Katie Stoops… Set within a crumbling massive 19th century abandoned home, Jemma Cassidy of HipHip events in Dublin designed a shoot that was filled with character and a mysterious elegance. We were enchanted with the visual of a stunning model who had a lightness about her against the heavy features that this building so desperately wanted to hold onto. The tarnished brass and gold complemented the rich jewel tones in the table setting & florals.

We had the duo from Mad Uncle Harry play in the house and the music simply echoed through the massive rooms creating a hauntingly beautiful experience where everyone wished they were actually getting married at that moment.

Dublin Elegance from Pretty As A Picture + The Bridal Lounge + Christina Brosnan

If I could, I would step into this gorgeous shoot, and live in it forever. It’s the perfect mix of elegance and sophistication mixing and mingling with a color palette that will stand the test of time – all crafted beautifully by the team behind the gorgeousness - The Bridal LoungePretty as a PictureThe Garden, Powerscourt and Christina Brosnan (to name a few). It’s inspiration overload in the best possible way, and really, what more could you ask for? See it all here.

The inspiration continues with this gorgeous film from Best Day Productions

From Pretty as a Picture… This is a sophisticated, elegant Dublin City wedding inspiration photo shoot. Our theme was classic elegance with green and black being the key colors used. The ceremony was held in Dublin City Hall, right in the middle of Dublin City centre. Renowned for it’s Georgian architecture, City Hall provided the perfect backdrop for the photographs, bringing some rich history into this modern wedding.

The bride and groom then moved to a stylish Michelin Star restaurant alongside Dublin’s canal for an intimate reception. For their first dance together a beautiful park was chosen. The bride changed her dress for her first dance and wears a beautiful black shrug to finish her outfit.

Custom illustrated stationery was created for the shoot. The couple’s story was illustrated and includes imagery of Dublin City, the canal and the couple themselves on a bellyband which wraps around the sophisticated invitation. An illustrated map was included outlining details of their special day.

A wedding dress portrait was also illustrated as a gift from the groom to the bride on the morning of their wedding depicting the brides dress, creating a beautiful keepsake for the couple of their wedding day.

A big thank you to all the high quality suppliers who participated in this shoot who helped make this happen!

Amalfi Coast Wedding at Villa dei D’Armieto from Jillian Modern Photography

I was lucky enough to spend a few days of my honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast, and I can honestly say I left a little piece of my heart there. It’s pure heaven. Every little bit of the beautiful coastline wrapped me up and made me want to stay forever, so when I laid eyes on this wedding from Jillian Modern Photography? I was a goner. I got completely lost in all the Italian goodness, and I don’t regret one bit. Because this pretty fête captures so much of what I loved about that gorgeous place topped off with a Bride in a Vera Wang gown – officially checking off all my weaknesses. See so much more here.

From Jillian Modern PhotographyThis wedding is 100% DIY, all details were tended to by the bridal party on the morning of the wedding. It was a fun team effort! Lemons… lemons… and more lemons! And if you have ever been to Sorrento you will know why. The entire peninsula is covered by lemon trees. They incorporate the lemon into everything that you eat or drink. I had also fallin in love with the color green, and when we went to see the Villa dei D’Armieto, the interior used this color everywhere in its details.

Ireland Wedding by Magda Lukas

All that is running through my brain right now is pretty, pretty, holy-cow PRETTY. It could be lack of coffee or more importantly the explosion of greatness that is this Dublin wedding. Photographed by Moments & Memories by Magda Lukas with a dab of the loveliest hand-painted paper goods by Rifle Paper Co., enough designer wedding attire to satiate even the most die hard tulle lovers and a cake. Oh the cake. That beauty was crafted by  Perfectionist Confectionist and it’s a whimsical delight…just like the wedding it came from. Enjoy all the beauty this Dublin wedding has to offer in the FULL gallery.

And how about the film by the crazy talented Brian of Shark Pig to round out the festivities? That man knows how to work a videocamera and the proof is in this Irish pudding…

From the bride… Paul and I had a wonderful wedding in Dublin at The Village at Lyons on July 11, 2011. I’m a fashion strategy student in Amsterdam, so I was quite concerned about my wedding style. Thank God that in Ireland we have so many good wedding retailers, but I selected some American vendors as well. The ceremony was in a very bright, open restaurant at The Village at Lyons. The French Touch made an arch with many beautiful peonies for the ceremony. I wore a Vera Wang dress with silver Roger Vivier shoes. Paul was wearing a Prada suit with a black agnes.b bow tie. We arranged for jazz music to be played by The Avoca String Quartet during cocktail time. We had a mushroom cake from Perfectionist Confectionist. One of the most lovely things was we had invitation cards and menus made by Rifle Paper Co. The wedding band was amazing. They played jazz and for the first song, which they had practiced especially for us, they played “Bad Things,” the theme song for the TV series True Blood. At midnight, we released colorful lanterns with the guests that had well-wishes for a happy future for us written on them. It felt so peaceful and complete.
