From Greg FinckIt can be tricky to attend to the wedding of an English and a German during the soccer worldcup. England had just been beaten by Uruguay the day before, and Germany was heading to being the next world champion. This however didn’t even bring a cloud over Nicky and Daniel’s chateau wedding in Provence.

Nicky and Daniel are a wonderful couple from London, who had decided to tie the knot under the blue sky of sunny Provence. A fabulous day at Château Grimaldi, a private chateau in Aix-en-Provence, with a stunning scenery and a pool embedded in the middle of castle ruins. This place vehicles all the beauty and magical light of Provence. Everything here is about pastel colors, soft and warm light, and the smell of lavender and olive groves.

Nicky and Daniel’s day had been perfectly designed by Lavender&Rose, with their usual touch of beauty and elegance. Floral design by Wayne Riley Flowers, perfectly matched the location’s softness, with in particular splendid rose bouquets for the bride and bride’s maids. Nicky’s effortless beauty had been enhanced by a bespoke Caroline Castigliano’s gown, and a pair of Christian Louboutin’s high heels.

The ceremony took place in Château Grimaldi’s private chapel, adding much intimacy to that very emotional moment. Once more the design was fabulous, with candles illuminating that intimate dark chapel. The cocktail took place just near by the pool, in the middle of castle ruins, while a jazz band was playing and guests savoring some Champagne. We leveraged the beautiful afternoon light for a lovely couple session in the middle of olive groves.

The day ended with an elegant outdoor diner, set just in front the chateau, with beautiful table setting for Lavender&Rose, and Wayne Riley Flowers. The sun was setting on a beautiful, and I could not help but taking our lovely couple in a lavender field, just nearby, for some last shots with the last rays of sun and a fabulous light.

Romantic Wedding in Provence, South of France

A wedding day inspired by a drop dead gorgeous pair of Valentino shoes in the South of France? I feel like I’ve died and gone to wedding-loving heaven. This is such a dream wedding. It beautifully infuses tradition with gorgeous style – so don’t be surprised when every image captured by One and Only Paris Photography sitting in this gallery leaves you completely speechless.

From One and Only Paris PhotographyProvence is a magical part of France with stunning landscapes and amazing light. It is the perfect backdrop for a wedding. Christina and Paul came all the way from the US to get married here surrounded by friends and family. Music was a huge part of their day and everybody partied late into the night under the stars.

Christina is half American, half French and Paul is Canadian. They both love art and it is thus quite naturally that they decided to seal their union in Aix en Provence, the city of the talented Paul Cézanne. The day before, a rehearsal dinner was held at an amazing venue dedicated to painting. It was as beautiful as the wedding.

Each detail of this wedding was important; from the Provencal cooking to the decoration. Christina knew exactly what style she wanted for her wedding decoration. She wanted something elegant with a touch of Provence. As color scheme, she chose coral to match her Valentino shoes and bridesmaids dresses.

The ceremony was held in front of the ancient church of the chateau. The cocktail took place poolside amidst the ancient stone ruins. Following the cocktail hour, guests made their way into the marquee for dinner, collecting their escort card from drawers filled of dry lavender.

This romantic wedding in France was a soft day under the warm light of Provence. A lot of this wedding was about sharing Provence lifestyle with their friends and family coming from all around the world.

Chateau

From Simon VerhoevenWarm weather, fields all around the location and a laid-back yet classy atmosphere. That’s what Femke and Mattias, two young professionals from Belgium, asked me when they came to me in the summer of 2012. Three months later we were looking at different chateaus in France…

And we found the perfect one! Chateau d’Alphéran in Meyreuil (5min away from Aix en Provence). Chateau d’Alpheran is an old chateau, with a beautiful courtyard in front of it. Around it, nothing but fields and the Mont Saint-Victoire, the mountain painted numerous times by painter Paul Cézanne.Quite similar like all the chateaus you would find in the Provence, but there is still one eyecather we didn’t tell you about! A beautiful orangerie with 4 enormous Oleanders at the entrance. Inside it is decorated with vintage tiles on the flour and amazing smelling jasmin on the walls. Just perfect!

The day before the wedding we were all a bit stressed out. The weatherforecast said it would rain! We came to France to have a dinner with the decor of a beautiful sunset over the lavender fields! Thank god their was a beautiful tent on the courtyard of the chateau! The morning of the wedding it still wasn’t looking good on all the apps we checked every minute on our iPhones. Only 1 out of the 7 apps said their would be no rain. And the bride decided to take a risk. So courageous of her! “We came to France, we WILL have our wedding outside!” Ten hours later we were eating and drinking outside, no rain and lots of sun! HEAVEN! We chose to have long tables in stead of round ones to create an easy going environment. Most of the details we made ourselves, inspired by the numerous blogs!

We placed a beautiful Moleskine guestbook in the chapel where people could put their self-made polaroid pictures in together with their wishes for the bride and groom. Our ceremony, menu and placement cards were all handmade. We dip-dyed the bottom of the cards with the juice of red beets, radishes and pomegrenate to give them a deep red colour. We of course bought some beautiful wood on which we wrote the name of the couples so all of our guests could easily find their way to the location. We made a seating chart heart on which we placed the placecards with the number of the table written on the back of the placecards so guests knew where to sit. Instead of throwing rice over the newlyweds after the ceremony, we gave them little bags filled with lavender. Two enormous monogram letters and painted in white were placed at the entrance of the gate.
