From White+white Weddings And Events… Lizzy and Greg’s lavish garden wedding was truly enchanting. The tree and moss lined entrance included soft draping with floral ribbon detailing, golden accents and a gorgeous antique welcome mirror. Hanging blooms and tea lights with potted trees and wrought iron furniture decorated the cocktail area. Archways were covered in ivy and chandeliers of flowers hung from the inner city warehouse ceiling.

Event designers and wedding planners, white+white, had a vision of absolute opulence in mind for the day and their styling direction helped bring Lizzy + Greg’s wedding to life. By orchestrating and teaming up with world class vendors including Amini Concepts, The Butterfly Lounge and Lightspace, they were able to deliver a soiree of extraordinary proportions.

Amini Concepts delivered to Lizzy and Greg’s wedding a sophisticated magic to match the couples own captivating charm. The indoor garden fashioned at Lightspace was luxe glamour and incorporated soft gold, natural timbers, silver mercury and fresh colourful flowers in abundance thanks to The Butterfly Lounge. The look transformed Lightspace from industrial style to a sensory overload of beautiful fresh greenery, flowers and drapery.

To create the idyllic garden party space, The Butterfly lounge lined the green turf entry with potted flowering plants. Each flower was chosen so that it fitted the garden party brief perfectly – colours and shapes and textures were carefully selected to reflect the randomness of a flowering garden. The arrangements were created with a ‘just freshly picked’ look in mind. The Butterfly Lounge’s favourite element was the living asparagus fern, which gave the scenery its wildness feel. Lisianthus, Cluster Roses, Dahlias, Hydrangea, Roses, Tulips, Peppercorn and Umbrella Ferns were used with some tiny Succulents in the bouquets. The chandelier was created to look as if it had hung there so long that the garden had grown in and over it.

From the Bride… Our wedding was very Elegant and Classical, with a twist of Vintage Country.  I chose very neutral colours for myself and bridesmaids, I feel my personality reflects my choice. I’ve never liked being the centre of attention (even on my own wedding day). Although I do love things to be beautiful without being in your face, very different to my husband, who likes all things bright. Navy is another favourite of mine, so to give the boys a less “formal ” look I decided to go with a navy jacket and beige pants. Very country Australian men’s dresswear.

Having close family and friends at our wedding made the day so special, but most of all seeing my my best friend and 18-month-old son at the end of the aisle made everything seem so perfect.

Amazing food, great wine and dancing to old time favourites definitely made all the planning worthwhile. When you see your guests enjoying themselves, you have a gasp of relief.

I loved everything about my wedding, being able to make it so personalised is the best part of planning. My favourites were definitely the Blooms & Dress! You can never have too many flowers.

Stylish Beach Engagement Session

Combining a laid-back setting like the beach with a super chic black dress and a killer paid of Ted Baker London heels was a brilliant (+ gorgeous) move on this stunning bride-to-be’s part.  It’s what we like to call taking the normal beach e-sesion and kicking it up a notch, and when you lay your eyes on the breathtaking images from The Obsession Collection, you’ll know exactly what we mean.  See it all here.

From The Obsession Collection… Dave and Stevie first met about five years ago while working together at bar on the gold coast; this was just the beginning, they have been inseparable since.

After asking Stevie’s parents for permission, Dave planned a lovely engagement by taking Stevie to Port Douglas, walking her through a pretty park full of beautiful flowers and getting down on one knee.  He had originally planned to do it on the beach, but Stevie was a little worried about crocodile breeding season, so Dave had to improvise.  He still got the answer he was hoping for, Stevie cried and said YES.

Dave and Stevie are such a beautiful couple.  Stevie was so nervous about the engagement shoot, but Dave made her feel at ease and the rest just came naturally.  By the end, I didn’t need to direct the couple much at all as they had forgotten I was even there and just really enjoyed each other’s company.

It was a very gloomy overcast day, but absolutely beautiful for shooting outdoors, we went for a very natural look and really wanted to express the couples emotion and excitement of their engagement.

For all of these images I used Kodak Portra 160 to achieve soft clear skin tones and beautiful timeless images.
