Perfect Every Time Thanksgiving Turkey

Every year my dad makes our Thanksgiving bird. Actually he usually makes the whole spread. And his turkey is always amazing. But I'm 100% convinced that this one would give it a real run for it's money. This turkey is perfection. Crispy, buttery skin. Super moist meat. Flavor and flavor and flavor for days. Plus, we prepped the turkey the night before and honestly this turned out to be the easiest part of our entire Thanksgiving dinner. No basting necessary. To Prep Your Turkey the...

Thanksgiving Ideas & Decor

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I literally start thinking about it in August... the turkey and stuffing, the mashed potatoes and perfect gravy. But mostly I love it because for our family, it's a day where the world stands still. While football plays in the backround, a fire keeps us all happy and we drink and laugh and cook and eat until we couldn't bear a single minute more. And this year, we wanted to celebrate just that. The simplicity of this beautiful, craveable holiday. THE...

DIY Gratitude Print + Free Template

Before our Thanksgiving festivities begin tomorrow, we wanted to share a really beautiful DIY project that we thought would make for the perfect backdrop for your own celebration. It also makes for a lovely hostess gift. Our in-house artist, Jess, hand painted this incredible "Gratitude Changes Everything" print for us. She then gussied it up with a bit of gold leaf paint and a simple white frame. She made it so...

Friendsgiving from Melanie Duerkopp Photography

Now here's a notion I could happily get on board with. A Thanksgiving feast with your closest friends in addition to the one surrounded by family? It may be the most brilliant idea yet. Not only do you get to wine and dine with your nearest and dearest, you get to do it twice! I do believe that Melanie & Myka are on to something. Oh, and there's more where this came...

And that's especially good news because Waiting on Martha's recipe for sweet potato au gratin is anything but low fat. With layers of cheese and cream and all sorts of incredible delicious goodness. But I swear it's worth every calorie laden bite. My stomach's rumbling already.

Best Ever Pecan Pie

We live out in the New England country, in a little town just outside of Boston. Where cars slow to let turkeys pass by and horses regularly trot down the side of the road with their owners. We are close enough to a city to experience all of the culinary goodness, but far enough to enjoy all of the farms and land and general loveliness. And around Thanksgiving that very combination gets oh so good. I should preface this recipe to say that I'm not so much of a pie girl. Unless I'm...

The Best Ever Guide to Thanksgiving

Yesterday we shot our annual Thanksgiving Dinner. And it was insanely beautiful and we can't wait to share. We kept the focus on simplicity. Limiting your menu to a totally doable variety. But before we unveil, we wanted to remind you guys that there is a wee little bit of beautiful inspiration from...

Pumpkin Pie from Waiting on Martha

We should be ashamed of ourselves! Last week we featured Waiting On Martha's incredible Southern inspired Thanksgiving spread, and while a pumpkin pie obviously made an appearance, there was nary a recipe in sight. So we, of course, had to revisit and...

A Southern Thanksgiving

In the South few things are held as high as tradition and family. And what's more traditional than gathering around a Thanksgiving table with family and friends to feast on the season's bounty? Inspired by my love for a classic Thanksgiving, I combined rich browns and oranges with an unexpected twist of coral and sage greens to create a picturesque Southern table. Captured by Rustic White Photography, there's a ...

Buttermilk Brined Smoked Turkey With Chestnut Stuffing

As the newest Style Me Pretty Living contributor, I thought I'd start with a full Thanksgiving spread, just for you! But before we get to the goods (they're coming, I promise), I wanted to share a couple of recipes that really made our event shine. My husband and I started brining and smoking our turkey on the Big Green Egg 2 years ago, and we'll never go back.  The brine, while an extra step, is a complete game...

Dressing For Thanksgiving from Damsel in Dior

My stomach is already growling with thoughts of turkey & dressing this November. Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite time of year, not only for the gathering of family and friends but also for the fun ways you can layer up your wardrobe. I tend to steer on the more casual side of dressing for Thanksgiving but even if it means just adding a piece of bling, there should always be a bit of flair incorporated into...
