A Cozy & Creative Apple Pie Workshop + A Recipe!

With the holiday season upon us, people have pie on the brain. I have pie on the brain ALL the time. So naturally, I held a pie workshop for a bunch of creative folks in Denver, CO! We focused on the steps it takes to make a great and gorgeous pie. From the crust to the assembly to the final touches, it's an art! [iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/110635895 600 338] We met up at one of my favorite warehouse-like venues, 3126 Larimer. It's so open and spacious, and felt like the...

Apple Tartletts with Crème Anglaise

We're talking entertaining today and one of my favorite easy desserts to whip up is this Tartlette with Crème Anglaise - originally photographed by White Loft Studio for my feature on Camille Styles. The tart is basically a glorified pop tart made with pre-made puff pastry and a bit of easy...

Root Beer Float with a Twist

I'm pretty sure that the Root Beer Float is sort of like the cupcake. Universally loved by all. But, the lovely Sarah at Juniper & Dash, is taking the classic to new places by adding a hint of Root Tea and a drop (or five) of warm caramel and the result is anything but ordinary. With photos by Alexandra Whitney, we're literally mixing one up as we speak. From Juniper...

Waffles with Vanilla Ice Cream with Warm Peaches

We may have conquered the best waffles ever but envisioning them drenched in cold vanilla ice cream and warm peaches, well, yeah. I think I might start crying. Or at the very least run out to Whole Foods to steal the last of the season's peaches. This is one of those meals - crafted by Juniper & Dash with photos by...

Chocolate Cobbler

There are few things I love more than a hot-out-of-the-oven dessert. It’s the way I was raised. If you’re going to do dessert, do it well! That’s why I often forgo desserts at restaurants. All too often they disappoint. My husband always blushes with embarrassment when I ask if it it’s house made. All too often the answer is no. Do dessert right and treat yourself and your guests to a chocolate cobbler they’ll be talking about for years! They don’t need to know how simple it...

Sriracha Maple Popcorn

I remember earlier this year there was a rumor that sriracha would be closing it's doors. And I'm not afraid to admit that I nearly had a heart attack. Because, unlike Frank's red hot, I really do put that #@$% on everything. But one thing I have yet to try is One Brass Fox's sriracha maple popcorn. And I think this needs to change immediately. Holy goodness! From...

Vanilla Ice Cream with a Chocolate Marshmallow Sauce

I am a fan of the classics. Audrey, Grace, Black Tie Weddings, Peanut Butter and Jelly. The things in life that just make sense together. And I'm pretty sure that Sarah at Juniper & Dash along with photographer Alexandra Whitney just invented a brand new classic. Chocolate Marshmallow Sauce atop perfect vanilla ice cream. Yum. Be prepared to lick the bowl with...

Classic Blueberry Pie + A First Birthday Party!

Recently my little guy turned ONE! I'm still kind of in shock over the whole situation... but I knew we had to throw an amazing first birthday party regardless. Liam LOVES blueberries. They are by far his favorite food. He could eat blueberries morning, noon, and night. So for his first birthday I figured it would only be appropriate to throw him a blueberry inspired Birthday party. The lovely ladies...

Chocolate Banana Bread Cake

Banana bread cake treated like a layer cake had been dancing around my mind for a while now. For some reason I wanted to turn a well known homey treat into a birthday extravaganza. I figured dulce di leche would be a great addition and that a layer of chocolate ganache would pull it all together in true birthday fashion. I am happy to report that it turned out to the be a very decadent and surprising birthday surprise.

Black Currant & Raspberry Sorbet

Leave it to Have a Yummy Day to leave my mouth watering and my jaw totally agape. Black currant and raspberries play nice in this scrumptious treat. Truth be told, I'd typically choose ice cream over sorbet. But when the results are this delicious looking, all bets are off. I'm on team sorbet all the way!

15 Ways to Eat a S’more

You know, not all that long ago I was placed firmly in camp don't-mess-with-the-smore. It's chocolatey, graham cracker-y, sticky perfection that simply doesn't need to be tampered with. 10 Ways to Eat Watermelon

A few days ago, I headed out on my lunch break to pick up an iced coffee. Much to my dismay, it was absolutely freezing (and by freezing I mean so. not. summery). There was an undeniable crispness in the air that simply couldn't be denied. Fall is on it's way, and I'm just not ready. Lucky, there are still a few summer weeks left , and I plan on taking advantage (starting with all of these watermelon recipes): PS - ...

Boozy Buttered Rum Ice Cream Floats

There is something about the way an old fashioned root beer float foams and bubbles that makes me feel like a kid again! I am absolutely loving this concept. Picture this: a massive family style dinner party - plates are casually passed around, wine is abundant, and laughter is aplenty.
