It's the time of the year when tomatoes are perfeclty sweet, juicy and fragant. In other words, the perfect time to fill up your home made ketchup and sauce stocks! If you feel like experimenting or just would like to impress your guests, then this fluffly and intense tomato mousse topped with the vibrant green basil crumble might be just the ticket!

Papaya Salad from Jennifer Chong

As far as I'm concerned, Jennifer Chong can do no wrong. The girl simply breathes beauty. Whether it's in the form of a recipe (like this Thai papaya salad - holy yum!) or incredible photography, everything she touches simply turns to gold. So I'm beyond excited to have her here today sharing one of her delicious treats. And I, for one, know what...

Corn & Crab Bisque Shooters from Boutique Bites

When we featured Boutique Bites' fabulously girly event not long ago, my eyes were immediately drawn to these corn & crab bisque shooters. Not only are they a breeze to whip up, they look adorable with the addition of a sparkly pom, and can easily be enjoyed with one hand as your guests balance a cocktail in the...

Hungarian Langos

Lángos is a deep fried flat bread that is served warm and usually topped with sour cream and grated cheese or garlic butter (a fabulous combination, if you ask me!) Traditonally, this dish was made from leftover bread dough and baked in a brick oven. Inspired by an old family recipe, this particular version is stuffed with sheep milk cheese and herbs (in other words: perfection). For more recipes, be sure to check out my blog...

Crostini Three Ways from Ruth Eileen

Ah, the crostini. It's pretty much the best invention on earth. Not only does it typically include carbs and cheese (my two favourite food groups), but it also acts as a canvas for anything your heart desires. Savoury? You got it. Sweet? Why not! And luckily for us Ruth Eileen sharing how she tackled these bad boys in three vastly different...

Manchego & Quince Skewers from Taste Catering

Hailing straight from Hayley at Taste Catering's pantry, these manchego and quince skewers are just a small example of what you'd expect to see on their menu. One part savoury, one part sweet, with just a touch of fancy, these little numbers are sure to be a hit at your next event. And because we kind of adore all things Hayley, we're doing a pretty intense interview with her ...

Summer Bruschetta from Clove & Kin

Since we're partway through August and fall is merely weeks away, I feel like it's essential to embrace every last ounce of summer. So if you're looking for me, I'll be sitting on the beach, drinking an ice cold beverage while listening to my summer playlist. And I will be doing so until September rolls around, at minimum. And while I'm at it, I'm thinking Clove & Kin's recipe for...

Low Fat Hummus #2: Roasted Red Pepper

Hummus is one of those things that you can eat and eat and eat. And eat and eat and eat. And then you look up, an hour in to your favorite Housewives franchise and boom. 500 calories down the drain. So instead of drowning myself in hummus sorrows, I make the low fat variety. Normally I tackle the cilantro and lime variety from our last post because that's SO my personal flavor profile, but every now and then I spice it up with some roasted red...

Low Fat Hummus: Cilantro, Lime & Jalapeno

I've mentioned before that my husband semi-follows a strict Vegan, No Oil diet. He does it for health reasons and to avoid any and all heart disease because of the prevalence of said disease on both sides of his family. So we are always looking for easy breezy recipes that we can make in big batches on Sundays and store in the fridge. This one is perfect as a festive dip, a spread on sandwiches or a topping for guacamole. And it's...

Best Ever Guacamole

I've been making guacamole for as long as I can remember. With lime and smashed garlic and those gorgeous black avocados (Hass) that turn all creamy and good once you mix everything in. Well, those perfect avocados aren't always round these parts of New England so when we were planning our Mexican inspired party we used whatever avocado we could find. The texture of the green ones (Gwen, Pinkerton and Reed) is a bit grainier and doesn't quite come out as smooth (unless they are SUPER ripe) but...

Roasted Tomatillo Salsa

It's Friday afternoon, the sun is shining and we've got roasted tomatillo salsa on our plates. If that's not reason to celebrate, well, I just don't know what is. I do, however, know for certain that Melissa's fabulous recipe is calling your name. Yep, it's spicy, savoury, celebratory goodness in salsa form, folks. And with that, we bid you the...

Burrata Crostini with Jam, Honey & Basil

I've mentioned before that I work with some of the most wildly talented ladies in the world - there's just no denying it. I consistently find myself soaked in a flow of inspiration of the very best kind and I count my lucky stars each and every day to be a part of it. When my fellow coworker, Melissa (who also blogs over at Yours Truly) sent along this recipe I literally leaped out of my seat. Cheese? Jam? Bread? BASIL?! It really...

Petite Brie En Croute

Brie is one of those cheeses on the platter that I always head for first. And to be honest, I wouldn't feel guilty hoarding the whole wedge for myself. So when I come across any recipe that involves this soft, melt-in-your-mouth goodness, I'm game. Toss in that we adapted this recipe from miss Joy the Baker herself? It's destined to be heavenly! *Adapted from:...

Fig Bruschetta

There's this little pizza place in Charlestown, MA that makes what I consider to be one of the world's best pizza. Complete with roasted figs, balsamic jam, gorgonzola, prosciutto, and oh my yum. I've moved away from that lovely restaurant though so while I can't get my hands on that pizza plate of goodness, I do think that this next little gem is going to fit the bill...and then some. A beautiful (and simple)...

Butternut Squash Crostata

If a recipe has Butternut Squash in the title, you can pretty much bank on me cooking it, eating it & licking my plate embarassingly clean. And this one from Kathryn of Dramatic Pancake just happens to layer in pancetta and fontina cheese, so you KNOW I've already made it. Eaten it. And licked my plate embarassingly clean. Now it's your turn. Run, don't walk. Butternut Squash, Broccolini and Pancetta Crostata with Fontina...
