That wildly on point fashion sense that Ashley Fultz of The Style Editrix has certainly shines through in her home as well. We've thoroughly fawned over her Closet/ Office and now we're getting a peek at her recently designed Dining Room. It is a little bit boho, a little bit glam and all sorts of colorful. Take the full tour captured by Nina Suh right here.
From Ashley... I have been working on gathering more art and cute little details for my dining room forever. When we moved in our house a year and a half ago, we kept our same dining room table and chairs from our condo, but we knew we needed to add some life to the rather small dining room. We got a pretty new light fixture for the room, but that’s basically all we did for a year, besides paint the walls a soft blue/gray color and we got custom drapes for the room.
The next step was finding a new rug, since our old one was dated. I am obsessed with the print and colors in our new really affordable rug – and the best part is it hides everything, even Smith’s (our 16th month old baby boy) mess! After that I still had the task of figuring out what to do with the bare walls!
We had a few paintings that we picked up over the years during our travels, so we hung those as a collage on one wall, but we needed a big statement piece for the other main wall in the dining room. We found a beautiful shot of a Playa del Carmen Mexico beach, and it really finalized the room! I love staring at beautiful locations while we're at the table.
The rest of the room is full of colorful accents and I love gold details! My whole house is glam and modern, and this room goes right along with it now. The smaller touches like this super cute bowl and runner, really make the room fun and of course we had to have a fun bar cart, because who doesn’t need one of those!
I also love filling the dining room with fresh fruit and flowers - it's a great and inexpensive way to add color. This is a room we spend a lot of time in and we love that it gets such great light and that the palette is serene and cozy.
Since Smith has been born, we have used our dining room more than ever (we used to eat in front of the TV every night!) and we can’t wait for many more family dinners and holidays in this beautiful room now that it’s finished!
