I love a good cocktail party, I do. Especially around the holidays. But sometimes, an intimate afternoon gathering is just as good, if not better. Case in point? From Tie The Knot In Santorini... With Christmas being around the corner, there are many questions that come to mind... what sort of presents to buy, party arrangements, wardrobe dilemmas - to name a few! No more excuses were needed for us to plan a day that combined them all, a “getting ready for Christmas” tea party!
To start with, a party like this calls for the ultimate girlfriends gathering. In our case the guest list was Julia & Evita from Santorini Glam Weddings, Manto from Santorini Bliss Weddings, Maria from Tie the Knot in Santorini and Anna Roussos, aka a group of girls who share the same passion for all pretty things. As we can all agree, fashion comes first. A great way to make the party more interesting is to have a dress code. Ours was inspired by the ‘60s!
Our party was all about fun, creative ideas and make the traditional Christmas “to dos” more interesting! The Christmas tree is of course the centerpiece of all decorations. A 60s inspired, minimal yet sparkling tree, looked dazzling just with drops of gold tinsels.
What makes a Christmas tree more special is the gifts underneath it and of course the joy of wrapping them. Velvet boxes, glitter ribbons, handwritten name tags, thoughtful little treats are our idea of the perfect Christmas gift.
There is no better time to enjoy tea and desserts than during the holidays. Styling a pretty teatime tablescape doesn’t have to be overwhelming, just add your personal touches to make it unique. Think of handwritten menus, flowers and colours you love, and don’t hesitate to mix and match different styles and eras.
Finally, It is the small unexpected details that make a party memorable. Turn Christmas most loved elements, like cinnamon sticks, into personalised name tags! Happy Holidays and keep on shining and sparkling!
