Sometimes life gets too hectic to do it all yourself, especially around the holidays. Get tips on winter entertaining without all the crafting!
We love a good dose of DIY, we do. But sometimes? Life gets too hectic to do it all yourself. Especially around the holidays when other checklist items like finishing that shopping list and decorating the house take priority. Glow Event Design is here today to show us just how to make it happen, along with easy rentals from Bright Event Rentals and La Tavola and blooms from Petite Petal Co. From Glow Event Design... There are plenty of articles out there loaded with holiday “Do-it-Yourself" projects. In all honesty, most of us are way too stressed out this time of year to even begin thinking about making our own wreaths, mulling homemade apple cider or knitting our kids stockings! Instead, the holidays should be a time to take a break and spend some wonderful quality time with your loved ones!
As a holiday hostess, you can do just that. A few simple rentals and a stylist or florist can give the right accents you need to make your home look warm and inviting, while still looking like you effortlessly put it together yourself. Glow Event Design put together this style shoot to show how to easily entertain in your home AND wow your guests. All of the pieces you see can be purchased in stores like Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware. The handmade goods can be found online at Etsy. Don't have enough chairs or a large enough table? No problem! Believe it or not, local rental companies are happy to do small quantity orders for home entertainment.
We suggest creating an environment that feels like home, but elevated. Try incorporating warm wooden accents and lush winter greenery (pine and eucalyptus smell amazing) and just a twinge of light blue to add a little depth to the elegant palate. Winter is all about snuggles and warmth, so texture was incredibly important to the design - we settled on a mixture of cable knit and luxe fur alongside raw linen napkins and natural twine. It’s important that each of your guests feel special and cared for, so upon arrival, they will by greeted with a hand painted place card and a personalized mini wreath. If only you could smell the incredible “naked cake”, almond cookies and blueberry tartlets - the shoot was a delicious success! Don't forget the hot chocolate to cap the night off. Top with a giant marshmallow and a splash of Bailey's and you have the perfect night cap.
