This First Fiesta is Numero Uno in our Books
Get inspired to throw a colorful first birthday fiesta complete with chips and salsa, papel picado topped cake and a gorgeous balloon installation
Dylan! Your first birthday fiesta is too good. Like chips and salsa, birthday cake and all the balloons you could possibly dream of kind of good. This modern fiesta is fun for the kiddos and the adults too (that Sangria bar certainly helps). Crafted by Little Miss Party Planner with imagery by Sandra Brzezinski, check out our favorite kid-friendly and parent approved bash to date.
One year ago, sweet baby D came into our lives. After a two day labor, she was finally ready to greet the world. As Dylan's first birthday approached we considered planning a family only event and keeping it simple. Then we realized, who are we kidding? Let's go all out! We found an absolutely perfect venue, Bash Studios. A beautiful white, well lit modern space. Couldn't have been a better palate for Dylan's first fiesta.
Once the theme and venue were pinned down we were ready to get going on the decor. We really didn't want a cheesy fiesta. Don't get us wrong. We are always down for cheese, really in anything. But this event was clean and sophisticated in our heads. The bar was super simple, adorned with cacti and our favorite piece: the light up D that we spray painted.
Sangria and wine were served for the adults. Trust me, any 1 year old party deserves a bit of booze. The dessert table was also very simple, cake and other desserts were store bought (gasp!) But decorated with flowers that we used around the room.
What about that balloon garland? Stunning right? We were lucky enough to work with One Stylish Party to create a garland that worked with our crisp white color theme using pops of bright color with our florals. Lastly, the food. We kept it kid friendly by doing self serve burrito bowls and easy Mexican themed appetizers. Overall the kids had a blast and most importantly Dylan got to try her very first cupcake!
