We've all been there... it's 9pm and you want to make brownies, randomly—but you have no eggs, and the grocery store is closed. Or is that just me? I have a feeling I'm not the only one. The key is to always be prepared with substitutes that can last in your pantry or that you might have lying around. Make sure to keep one of these ingredients (that work in most recipes) handy just in case!

Egg Substitutes

Flax Seeds

1 tbsp. flax seeds mixed with 3 tbsp. of water for one egg

Applesauce

1/4 cup for one egg

Coconut Oil

1 tbsp. for one egg

Banana

1/4 cup banana for one egg

Yogurt

1/4 cup plain yogurt for one egg

*If using eggs as leavening agents, add 1/2 tsp baking powder as well
