Every day deserves a good dose of glamour but especially on Halloween. And that layer of glam is even better with a spooky, dramatic edge. So if you're hosting a party or even a small get together, take heed of these fab tips from Laura Prattes Events along with the perfect accessories from Laura Hooper Calligraphy for decking your drink station to the nines. ONE.  Pick a color palette

Think outside of black and orange - halloween doesn’t have to be the typical black and orange. For this bar cart we went a little more glam with black, oxblood red and gold. Black with mixed metallics could be pretty as well. Whatever you choose you want to make sure to keep all of the objects within that color scheme for a cohesive and well curated look.

TWO. Texture

You want to bring some texture to your bar cart. This can be done with fresh flowers, spooky faux spanish moss (like we added around the top) or even linens or napkins.

THREE. Edit, Edit, Edit

You don’t have to store all of your alcohol or glassware on the bar cart. Stash some of that in a cabinet and only use what works with your space. Same when it comes to styling props. Step away and take a look at your work, don’t let things get too cluttered.

FOUR. Use various height objects

You want to add interest to your bar cart by having items at a few different heights, not all the same level. Candle sticks help to add some height, then you can stack a few books and place a bottle opener or candle on top for balance.

FIVE. Don’t get too bottom heavy.

Some people have a tendency to load everything on the bottom shelf of the cart, leaving it feeling too bottom heavy. Balance things out by spreading the “heavier” objects on both shelves.

SIX. Go beyond the cart

Don’t be afraid to use some of the floor space in front and around the cart. Also be sure to add interest to the wall space above the cart. Stage the entire area as a little vignette of the season. Here we added a fun tombstone and some candles to the floor, and then a periodic table on the wall.
