The breakfast room was extremely important to get right since it's the first place the family gathers to prepare for the day and spends a tremendous amount of time there. I stumbled upon the Danish made Hay Arm Chairs during a design scouting trip in Los Angeles and fell madly in love with it for this project. The chairs are comfortable and supportive for adults but cozy for kids to curl up in and comes in stunning color options. The material makes its a no brainer for clean up.

The small hall bathroom was instantly transformed with Kate Ridder wallpaper in Moonflower Red (including inside of the exposed shelves), reclaimed wood shelves and custom Urban Electric Lyford sconces in a polished nickel finish to fit into the small space.
The brass sink fixture and polished nickel sconces were very "intentionally unintentional" as we wanted the space to not feel too perfectly matched and decorated. The finishes were meant to contradict one another to ensure the space felt approachable and not overly designed.
The hall bath is a beautiful refuge and always a location we love to dress up for clients. It's one of the few spaces in a home that all your guests will visit and it's typically a small space so taking design risks never feel as scary as papering an entire dining room would, for example.
We are not a firm that feels everything must be "custom" and there are some fantastic retail vendors that we love working with. However, we are also never afraid to go custom when necessary to make sure an item is tailored perfectly to suit our client’s specifications. The master bed is a custom design we came up with for the clients who wanted it to feel like a modern, spa like escape but still a cozy place to read bedtime stories to their children. This unique request called for a custom bed upholstered in outdoor fabric with a straight back headboard and simple tufting.

Some of the most dramatic changes to the home were new hardwood floors by Francois & Co., and incredible custom lighting. The homeowners had planned a "day" date in San Francisco to peek at some potential product selections. Their first stop was at The Future Perfect and after one look at the Lindsey Alderman, Branching Bubble in Milk Glass, they knew that was not only the chandelier they wanted for the dining room but also the perfect piece of art for the space. Lindsey was actually no longer producing the piece in Milk Glass but she made an exception and produced it for the couple.
