There has been something in the water over here at SMP for some time now - and it has resulted in some of the cutest children that I've ever seen. Honestly. So let's just say there is a little baby fever going on in my world, and this adorable nursery shoot from Kindled Photography just took that fever up about a million degrees. See more sweetness here.
From Jessica...We had our boy name picked out before we ever got pregnant. My husband and I went to the UK the summer before and fell in love with Scotland. It's so beautiful and mysterious. I love researching names, so after the trip I looked up Scottish names and found Lachlan. Both my husband and I loved it, and we stored it in our memory banks for our future son. When we got pregnant, I just knew we were having a boy and started brainstorming for room ideas (and secretly shopping!) before we even found out for sure. We wanted to channel a Scotland feel because of his name without being overtly Scottish with the plaids, etc. I wanted a nautical feel but without incorporating lots of sailboats. Instead of a theme, we went with more of a vibe: a Viking adventure to Scotland. We added personal touches all over the room, including a photograph I took of Loch Craignish, a painting we purchased from a local artist in Barbados, a windmill music box to recognize my husband's Dutch heritage, and Lachlan's name in driftwood that my good friend made for us. Also, when Tabitha came over to photograph our little family, my husband wanted to wear the shirt I gifted him for Father's Day when we were pregnant. It says "dad' in multiple languages. We just love how everyone who enters his room describes it as calming and enjoys being in there. This little boy is so special to us and I hope it shows in the love we put into his room.
