You know, all too often the term shabby chic gets a bad wrap. Most people typically picture grandma's used hand-me-down furniture. But to me, shabby chic embodies a place that feels lived in, loved, and basically perfect. Enter: The Picket Fence Project's home tour.  Filled to the brim with cozy country vibes with a traditional twist. In other news? I hope Caitlin is looking for a roommate because I'm ready to move in. With photos from Bruce Plotkin, there's more right here!
From Caitlin... I wanted our master bedroom to be a place in which we were happy to end our day. It's calm, serene, and slightly coastal. One of my favorite parts of the room is the planked wall that my husband and I did together. For a complete source list and links to our DIY projects in this room, you can visit here!
My son's nursery is by far my favorite room that I have decorated. It's a combination of store bought splurges, garage sale finds, and DIY projects. I wanted the room to be calming with a coastal inspiration. For a complete source list and links to our DIY projects, you can visit here!
Although the front door is seldom used (most guests come through the kitchen door), the foyer is a very visible part of our house as you must pass through it to get to the living room. It's a space that is still a work in progress (I would love to give our door a makeover) and one that is filled with secondhand finds.
This room is what sold me on the house. The planked ceiling, exposed beams, large windows, and floor to ceiling built-ins pack the room with character.
I wanted our dining room to be an informal room we actually eat in. Thanks to the rustic dining table that my husband made, I think we achieved that. It's a casual and inviting space we use often.
