If you're ever at a loss for birthday party inspiration, you can always rely on the classics. I mean, they're that way for a reason after all. Velveteen Rabbit, the original Winnie the Pooh, or in this case Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit. Styled by Eventful Wedding Planning and photographed by Alexandra Wallace, this is one children's birthday party that guests are sure to remember!

From Colleen Gregory, of Eventful... The inspiration for this party comes from photographer, Alexandra Wallace, and wedding planner and my nostalgia for bedtime storiesâ??this one being Beatrix Potterâ??s famous series. We chose a location that was already lush with gardens, and had a background that was easy to dress with decor. The Sage Eco Garden is actually a full time nursery that is open to the public, but had different types of garden settings for us to play with. Alexandra joked that her life goal was to shoot a photo of a dog in a floral collarâ??she definitely got what she asked for! Between Amelie and Olive the miniature Frenchie, we are not sure who stole the show more.

A potting benches, a childâ??s table, ladder shelves, a wheelbarrow filled with lavender, and picket fences hung with a wreath were all part of our plan to make McGregorâ??s Garden come to life. Our models wore a flower crown and a flower collar to complete their attire. The naked cake placed on the potting bench next to my familyâ??s antique gardening tools, used as cake cutters, looks purposefully placed and unique. The water colored invitations were perfectly incorporated into the Beatrix Potter theme.

Many of these items were DIY from the photographer, and myself. The vegetables were picked up from the local farmerâ??s market, and their color adds to the beauty of the shoot.
