At 28 years old, I’ve officially reached that stage of life where everyone I know is engaged. With plenty of weddings on the horizon, and consequently plenty of bachelorettes, showers and the like, I can’t help but be drawn to stunning events to pull inspiration. Events like this backyard bridal shower, that is so pretty I could cry. Unsurprising, since Jenny Bradley is at the helm. With photos from D’Arcy Benincosa, let’s get lost in the gallery.
From Jenny Bradley… When i got the news that one of my best friends Darya was engaged, i immediately jumped to the task of throwing her her first bridal shower. Darya loves beautiful things and details as much as i do so i knew this shower had to be special and reflect Darya’s simple, thought through style. It was decided that an evening outdoor party in the backyard of my childhood home was the answer, with its quaint cottage look, giant weeping willow trees, cinderblock walls crawling with ivy and expansive weathered deck, it was the perfect backdrop for the fresh, natural and rustic theme i wanted.
I collaborated with some amazing local talents that truly made the party and my vision come to life. I also gathered unique pieces from family and friends like mixed and matched sterling silver flatware, rustic wooden and brass bowls, and sterling silver trays to create a curated look. I crafted a little as well by making frayed linen dinner napkins. The guests were greeted by a self serve lemonade and limeade bar with slices of fruit and freshly cut mint leaves from the garden. The bride was admired in a delicate floral crown and ladies mingled amongst the yard before a delicious buffet style dinner on a table accented with luscious Eucalyptus and a stunning centerpiece full of berry blooms and greenery.
The night was perfect as we ate, laughed and celebrated a beautiful friend
