If this is what turning 80 looks like, consider me totally and completely on board. Because this event, decked to the nines in bright whites and citrusy hues, is by and large the party of the century. Of course, Park & Grove left absolutely no detail unthought of, and the incredible Joel Serrato was there to capture every last moment. To be honest, the gallery is where you need to be.
From Park & Grove… Our 80th birthday party was as vibrant and unique as the guest of honor herself. Before we got started, the birthday girl, Elaine, had three requests Frank Sinatra, candles and a color way of pink and orange. The first part was easy, we worked with West Coast Music to source an incredible Frank Sinatra impersonator, which was the most amazing surprise for Elaine and all her guests. The party was held at Elaine’s son’s private home in the Hollywood Hills, which is primarily white, grey and is very contemporary. We wanted to soften and feminize the space, while still creating a party that looked appropriate in the setting. To mirror the modern, clean lines of the house, we brought in white lacquer tables and sleek white ghost chairs. We want the tablescapes to look and feel like Elaine, so we brought in lush fuchsia and orange centerpieces of peonies, ranunculus, sweet peas and roses and dramatic glass candelabras. Even the Roger Room’s incredible cocktails reflected the vibrant pinks and oranges featured throughout the decor. Our most favorite detail of the night was our menu treatment. Instead of a traditional menu, we created custom menu placemats that featured the evening’s five courses in stunning gold calligraphy, which was beautifully accented with Casa de Perrin’s incredible gold flatware.
Like all birthday parties, we ended the dinner with a birthday cake, but this time, one with 80 candles! We took the Moroccan tile print we used on the invitation liner and had Charm City Cakes recreate it for the cake. After a very Sinatra-esque birthday serenade, guests went upstairs to the upper deck to enjoy a chocolate emporium, full of a plethora of Jennifer Naylor’s incredible chocolate confections. They were placed all around the space with custom to go boxes, so guests had something to nibble on on their way home!
Our incredible team of vendors created the most amazing celebration, which was commemorated so beautifully with Joel Serrato’s images! Thank you so much to all!
