If there's any proof that small spaces can most definitely be big on style, Lexi's  900 square foot Miami abode is it! With glittery, golden accents galore, this is one place I do believe I could happily call home. Not convinced? Perhaps her SHOE DISPLAY will do the trick! Cue instant jealousy. With photos from the unebelievable Harwell Photography, there is so much more in the gallery!
From Lexi... Our style is a bit of a crazy mash-up of old and new. A lot of our home is full of hand-me-downs, vintage finds, and too much sparkle (I have quite the supportive husband!) We also live in a very small space, so we had to make that work when truth be told, we’re both stuff-collectors (a.k.a., my PC term for hoarding.) We’re eclectic and quirky and I think/hope we capture that spirit in our little home.
Because our rental apartment is small and had very dark wood floors, I did my best to decorate with light, bright features. I’m typically drawn to darker colors with an edgier feel – namely, black – and I had to rein that in when designing our space, because I really wanted our home to feel clean and inviting. We are also on the move for the next few years – hubby is finishing up an MD/PhD and we’ll be matching in a new city in less than a year for his residency so I’m not tied to any one style.

In the living room, the biggest struggle was our too-dark brown leather sofa. I think the bright white Moroccan shag rug really helps to lighten the space up and that West Elm marble table makes me supremely happy. Throw pillows also brighten up the couch, and I just can’t stop buying them. I love a good throw pillow. We spray-painted those IKEA shelves gold, and though they’re not perfect (spray paint is tough to work with for sure!), I love the look.
My office space is actually a part of the living room, but it really works for me. I tend to bounce around our place when I work depending on my mood – bedroom, sofa, desk – so having the “office” in my line of sight, helps to keep me motivated once I’m home from the law office and ready to focus on blogging. The white desk-top (with DIY gold legs) is also a great surface for Instagram snaps. We DIY’ed the white and gold shelves and I painted the leopard spots onto a canvas because every good office should have a bit of leopard print. The disco ball seemed highly necessary.
I live in my kitchen. At any given time there are a million mixing bowls, utensils, measuring cups and containers of flour and sugar on the counters, so I try to keep the cooking tools that really make me smile on hand; cue the copper everywhere. The DIY silver bar cart was a brilliant invention by the lovely Jenn of The Chic Pad and I adore it. Having a little mobile cooking station, on wheels, is extra helpful in a small kitchen with not a whole lot of storage space. We added the IKEA silver shelves for extra storage as well.
Our bedroom is my haven. I love that fluffy white bed. Our mirrored bedside tables were a splurge (especially after the hand-me-down bed frame and vintage trunk spotted at a garage sale … that was actually given to us for free), but they really give the space that luxe feel I was going for, and they make me feel so very grown-up.
Having my shoes on display is just plain fun and the jewelry board was a little DIY I put together with wood, spray paint, funky hardware and drawer pulls, and a lot of glue. I also felt it was important that hubby have his own décor on his side of the bed to add a bit of masculinity. Because the space is so white and styled, I felt like I could get away with the edgier faux cowhide rug.
