I’ve always thought of Liz, the genius behind Late Afternoon, as one of the cool kids on the block. She simply exudes style and class, and her fashion sense is unparalleled by many in blogland. She’s constantly on the forefront of trends and, much to my delight, is ridiculously sweet to boot! With photos from Kimberly Genevieve, we’re going behind the blog, and you so don’t want to miss it
SMP: Why do you think Late Afternoon has done so well?
I’d like to think that it’s because it’s an organic yet stylized reflection of my real life. What you see is what you get. Imperfections and all.
SMP: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a blogger just starting out?
Find your own voice, style, and aesthetic. The world doesn’t need another “insert famous blogger name here”, the world needs you.
SMP: What did you think your dream job was before your dream job found you?
A research psychologist working at a university. At the time I was aiming for Stanford!
SMP: If you had the opportunity to get your message across to a large audience, what would it be?
Life is too beautiful and too short to waste. Find what makes you happy, because that’s all that matters.
SMP: What’s the hardest lesson in business you ever learnt?
You have to take risks. Big risks. That was very hard for me at first.
SMP: One thing every style savvy girl should have?
A perfectly slouchy striped tee.
SMP: One thing you can’t live without?
SMP: The best moment of your career so far?
When I left my full time job and discovered I could have a life that didn’t include sitting behind a computer all day.
SMP: Your best quality?
People say I’m genuine, that’s always the best compliment.
SMP: Your secret to success?
Self-awareness. You have to know your weaknesses in order to overcome them.
