You know what makes us really happy? Spending the day at Ceremony Boston. Our pal, Alix Childs, has created such a breathtaking bridal boutique – it’s seriously to die for. So we kept it simple this month with a rustic, Easter table display made of budding magnolia branches. We infused color with place settings from Anthropologie and a the most adorable DIY place card using embroidery thread in shades of pink.

And because it wouldn’t be right to without this super simple, totally adorable placecard DIY from all of you, we’re dishing on every single step…

Materials

Embroidery Thread
Embroidery Needle
Thick Card Stock of your choice (we used watercolor paper)
Piece of Cardboard
Gold Pen

instructions

step-1Decide on your design; we kept it simple with a fun top-stitch zig-zag pattern

step-2
Puncture holes in the shape of your desired pattern to make the sewing process easier—do this by placing your card stock on top of the cardboard so you don’t poke through and ruin the table or floor you’re working on! *remember this is structured paper, not easy-to-sew-through fabric!*

step-3Using your embroidery thread, follow your pattern and sew through each designated hole

step-4
Use that gold pen to write out your guests names

See you next month! xo, The petal girls
