If you only ever try one of the recipes from today's Farm to Table feature, trust me when I say this should be it. Not only is it pretty in pink, it basically takes like sunshine in a glass and for that, I'm a mega-fan! Plus, it's the perfect thing to help you wash down that entire potato and goat cheese pizza you just ingested (no worries, no judgement shall be passed!)
|4 cups sugar||4 cups water|
|24 lemons||2 cups huckleberries, juiced or mashed|
|6-8 cups of water (additional)||ice|
Make a simple syrup by bringing sugar and water to a simmer in a saucepan until sugar is dissolved. Let syrup cool in refrigerator.
Juice the lemons into a large drink dispenser. Add 3/4 of the simple syrup and fill up the container with ice. Add the remaining water, stir and taste! Determine if you need to add the remaining syrup to add sweetness or more water to make the mixture less tart. Lastly, add in the huckleberry juice, which will remain on top and add a beautiful purple layered effect to your lemonade!
