I’m particularly excited about Arianna‘s home tour because we caught her just in the knick of time. The girl is moving, like, today! And just before she packed her things, we managed to sneak in a quick peek. Thank god, because when a place is this cute it simply needs to be seen. Captured by our darling Esther Sun, but there’s no shortage of leftover lovely to be found in the gallery.
From Arianna… The living space is the place where we get to unwind and relax as a family. I keep soft throws easily accessible in bins under the side tables and several large candles in the fireplace for a cozy ambience. We love to lounge on the deep comfy sofa together in the evenings and read or watch a marathon of one of our favorite TV shows.
The dining space is small so I kept it simple – a round tulip table to allow for the best possible traffic flow and clear chairs with minimal visual weight. In the daytime, I love opening up the curtains to allow the natural light to flow in – it makes the perfect spot for a morning cup of coffee.
My husband and I both love blue, so agreeing on a paint color for the bedroom walls was fairly easy. To keep the overall feel fairly calm and soothing, I stuck with neutral colors for everything else: white bedding, a linen headboard, a black and white rug, etc. As an inexpensive alternative to side tables, we used floating shelves and beautiful fabric boxes for additional storage. The benches were a flea market find that I re-covered. We placed them at the foot of the bed and our pup uses them as a step stool when he wants to jump up for a cuddle session.
The office is my favorite part of the home. I had never before had an entire room to dedicate as my office, so needless to say I was very excited about it. I made the gallery wall the focus and filled it with framed postcards found while traveling, personal photographs, and artwork made by my talented sister. I placed the desk in the center of the room and a shelving unit behind it that I could easily access by swiveling in my desk chair. The bookcases to either sides of the unit provide additional storage for office supplies, fabric samples, design magazines, etc.
And in case you missed it earlier, we chatted with Arianna about her luxury pillow line, and it can all be found right here!
