Now that you’ve seen the entire, gorgeous Chicago home that Winnie & Christine sent our way, we wanted to break down the rooms that Christine of Bijou and Boheme designed. And as a bonus, get all of the too good to be true sources so that we could steal every last details. Which includes bedding from our favorite fellow blogger Biscuit (the product of Peppermint Bliss)!
One of the first purchases for the space was the amazing antique bed. After that, I presented the idea of using a really saturated pink to lacquer all of the built ins and trim and was thrilled when my client went for the bold paint. In the end, the lacquer just wan’t in the budget but we were able to achieve just as much impact with the amazing colour. It was at this point in the design process that the original wallpaper selected was changed in favour of a pattern my client’s husband felt was more modern and graphic
After the new paper was installed, we added in some elements that worked to tie in the new paper with the selections we had originally made, which meant pulling in some more lilac. The vintage curtains panels that I found on Etsy brought in all the colours of the room, as did the upholstered seat cushion below. My client sourced an antique desk, vintage French chair, mirrored side table and pair of lamps that worked with the larger pieces that were already in place. A feminine floral print was chosen for the bedding, and again tied together the colours used in the room.
