Let’s be honest here. It really shouldn’t be legal to ring in the New Year without some big ol’ golden numbers hung above-head. And because those party stores are nothing if not expensive, Hello!Lucky has made their own version. And we, of course, begged them to share (and they were happy to oblige!)
Clear fishing line
Print out large numbers of your choosing and carefully cut around each using a sharp exacto knife.
Note: We used one number per 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of carstock.
Slice your gold paper into 2″ wide ribbons and, using your scissors, cut little slits every 1/4″ or so across each ribbon. Be careful not to cut all the way through. You should be left with gold “fringe”.
Starting at the bottom of your first number, glue the fringe across it. Continue to add fringe, overlapping each time, as you go.
Trim excess fringe and repeat withe remaining numbers!
Using your hole puncher, punch 2 (or so) holes at the top of each number, and hang using clear fishing wire!
