Last week we unveiled our wintry New Years party, and this week it's Hey Gorgeous Events' time to shine! Inspired by West Elm's awesome party in a box, these girls brought out the big guns with this bright and sparky affair! From simple yet elegant DIY's to delicious treats, we're breaking the whole thing down for you today so stay tuned! And in the meantime, feel free to take a peek at the gallery.
From Hey Gorgeous Events... Truth be told, almost everything in this shoot was thrown together for ease, because let's be honest, when it comes to being a host and throwing a party, you want to be able to enjoy your guests and your time together. Instead of baking a cake from scratch, mixing individual drinks, making mousse from cream, and serving a huge fancy dinner, I created details that are easy to achieve with shortcuts without sacrificing flavor or quality. And the DIYs (like the bow wall installation) are easy for all!
The menu was a simple selection of mini appetizers that everyone can make at home with ease. We took our favorite mac and cheese recipe, spooned enough into the wells of a muffin pan and baked them to make them personalized and mini passed apps.
For the dessert shooters we made a yummy chocolate mousse and crumbled up chocolate cupcakes, alternating the two components in shooter glasses for a fun and tasty dessert. The Merry and Bright cocktail was a delicious mixture of grenadine, pomegranate juice, pink zinfandel (to taste, although I personally like my drinks a little sweeter) and raspberries as a garnish.
So many other details that made up the styled tablescape were simple DIY touches anyone can make happen; like the silver bow accent wall, the West Elm ornament favors that doubled as escort cards and the small paper touches from The Pink Orange (drink tags, menus) that packed a punch. The icing on the cake was the tissue pom decorations hung over the tray of food and drinks that guests could help themselves to!
