As an interior designer myself, I’d be the first to admit that we’re a finicky bunch. We each know what we like, when we like it and it’s often hard, nary impossible, to convince us otherwise. There’s no question that I have my favourite go-to paint colours; a select few that I use time and time again. And I thought it’d be fun to jump in and dish out some of my secrets. (Note: I’ve since added Caitlin Wilson‘s emerald vapour to my repertoire, having just specified it in a clients living room). Oh, and if you’re ever looking to read more about my designs, my life and other musings of this genre, check out my personal blog, Lark & Linen.

And now for the coles notes version:

No. 1 Benjamin Moore’s Oxford White – CC-30: This is my absolute favourite white. It’s crisp, it’s clean, and you simply can’t go wrong.

No. 2. Benjamin Moore’s Ashley Gray – HC-87: A truly lovely, moody taupe that works perfectly with both brown and gray palettes (no easy feat!)

No. 3 Benjamin Moore’s Hudson Bay – CC-810: A deep, rich blue that feels saturated but not in-your-face. It’s very romantic and works beautifully in bedrooms and dining rooms alike.

No. 4 Benjamin Moore’s Gray Owl – OC52: A soft, warm gray that literally works in any room, with any palette. Fool proof!
