You’ve been warned: this series of photos will, without a doubt, make you crave a teeny tiny newborn of your own. Those sweet baby cheeks? I just can’t get enough. And just when I thought I was starting to tire of light grey interiors, this gorgeous nursery landed in my lap and I find myself falling in love all over. Captured by the incredible Gracie Blue Photography , you may want to get lost in the rest of the gallery.
From Carolines Mom… Our little button nosed Caroline Quinn was born on a beautiful sunny day in May of 2013 in Atlanta, GA. Our tiny Georgia Peach came a day before her due date and took her dad and I by surprise when my water broke in the middle of my work day at the office. I had a pretty uneventful labor and delivery and really cherished every moment – all 18 hours of it. Despite the pain of contractions and discouraging back labor – all I could think of was ….”I’m going to meet my baby today!” We could NOT wait to meet our little girl who kicked and nudged at me for many months prior. It was a beautiful day filled with tears (even from dad). We couldn’t have been happier.
My pregnancy was a busy one – I was a product manager for a children’s toy and gear company which led me on many international adventures while pregnant with our baby Caroline. Before Caroline was even born – she had the chance to travel with me to Koln Germany, Amsterdam, and Florence Italy for work trips. Being in the children’s industry and attending trade and fashion shows gave me so much inspiration for my nursery, Caroline’s clothing and toys. It was so amazing to attend shows and competitive shop for children’s products while pregnant! Especially in Europe !
Caroline’s nursery was most definitely inspired by my interest in Shabby Chic Style, Pinterest and hours and hours spent on Nursery Decor blogs. I think I spent all of my free time during the pregnancy planning Caroline’s nursery and making all kinds of DIY pieces. Little did I know that once I had our daughter – I wouldn’t even have time to wash my hair! Oh how times have changed!
Having a background in sewing and design also inspired me to do many projects that I saw in stores on my own for less. My mother (former owner of a chilidren’s smocking company) got me sewing at the age of 5 and I haven’t stopped since! I knew I had to incorporate some of my own sewn items into my daughters room.
Despite the chaos of having a 1 week old at the time, we really enjoyed our newborn photography session. Our photographer Gracie made us feel comfortable which helped her get the most natural shots possible. She put an incredible amount of detail into each shot – including handmade headbands and painted baskets. My favorite moments from our shoot were when she photographed my husband with Caroline, and also when she was able to sneak a few shots of my mom with the baby. I will cherish those pictures forever and I know Caroline will too.
