Chances are you’ve heard the term “Food Revolution” in the past. It’s a wonderful endeavour geared towards improving North Americans’ health and eating habits. I secretly love the entire notion, and am smitten with the fact that Nili Stevens & Wiley Valentine have taken the idea and transformed it into a pot luck dinner for all of their friends. Captured by Braedon Flynn, there’s a whole lot more lovely in the gallery.
From Nili… This year in honor of Food Revolution Day, we gathered a few of our favorite friends and some family to host our Second Annual Food Revolution Day feast at my home in Newport Beach.
We sent out an paperless invitation explaining our mission and asked everyone to bring a dish in celebration of the season. The event was called Eat Well With Friends & Family. We asked people to think fresh, not processed and to shop local. In addition we asked everyone to bring a craft beer or wine to share at our beverage table. The results (once again) were fabulous.
The talented and creative Wiley Valentine created our brand and provide all signage tags, our guest and friend Braedon Flynn at Braedon Photography captured the day, Ritual Juice provided a delicious lavender lemonade for our berry cocktails and our sponsor Orange County Produce provided crates of organic produce for our guests to take away. All in all I would say it was an utterly “Inspiring” event. I can’t wait to do it all over again next year.
Food Revolution Day is a global day of action initiated by the Jamie Oliver for people around the world to stand up for real food and bring food education back. It is a chance for people who love food to come together, to share information, talent and resources, pass on their knowledge and highlight the world’s food issue.
