Tying a bow tie is one of those things that might not be an every day occurrence, but I can assure you that it will likely come in handy at some point in your life. I mean, everyone should attend a gala every now and again (right?!) Luckily for the bow tie inept amongst us (ahem, myself), we have people like Annie Dean who can walk us through all of these adorable life skills.
Drape the bow tie over his neck, under his collar, leaving one end of the bow tie slightly longer (‘A’) than the other (‘B’).
Slip A under B.
Pull B up and under A, forming a loose overhand knot. Tighten if necessary.
Fold A on top of itself at its widest point to create the first half of the bow.
Lay B on top of A, over the front of the first half of the bow.
Loop B over and behind A, securing A in place, and pull through.
Adjust bow as necessary.
