There are countless things I love about the summer season, but ranking high atop that list is a simple al fresco meal shared amongst family and friends. Styled by Avenue Lifestyle and gorgeously captured by Anouschka Rokebrand, this next Italian-inspired feast is all that and more. All you really need is a handful of grilled asparagus, some simple anti-pasta and a lemon-flavoured spaghetti main to be completely and totally set. See the rest of this mouth-watering photoshoot right here in the gallery.

From Holly… Enjoying meals together is one of life’s simple pleasures. Fresh, healthy and delicious food, served in a pretty setting can really lift the spirits and create a sense of togetherness. I have always been inspired by the way the Italians have made food such an integral part of daily life, not only in how it is prepared, but how it’s shared as well. This became the inspiration behind this shoot – an Italian al fresco dining setting in which simple and delicious Italian dishes set against a contemporary rustic setting are the main ingredients. The food just came alive against the gorgeously simple dinnerware {made from fallen palm leaves} by VerTerra, while a rustic loaf of bread, some antipasto and great company completed the scene. Throw in some fresh herbs, olive oil, beautiful fruit tarts for dessert and a beautiful terrace garden and this is my kind of al fresco dining heaven!
