I have to admit, being a blogger sometimes has some serious perks. Like when you get to sort through a rack of gorgeous clothes- because your working on a fashion story of course – and play dress up all day long. So here’s the story. The other day, we did a big photoshoot here at my house. And, the flowers that we commissioned from Foret specifically for that shoot were so gorgeous, we wanted to make them work a little harder for us. So we came up with the idea “From Flowers to Fashion,” allowing each arrangement to inspire a complete outfit. We asked our sweet friend, Heidi of White Loft Studio to photograph and boom. Best afternoon ever!
I swear, I’ve seen this dress all over the place lately. And I can 100% confirm that it’s gorgeous. It’s soft and flowy and fits like a dream. We decided that it didn’t really need much of anything in the way of accessories so we simply tied a floral bracelet around my wrist and voila. Such prettiness. Inspired by the Apple Tree Branches that sat tall and regal in a simple, organic vase, BOTH felt like they could stand all on their own. Without fuss or circumstance.

Of all of the outfits, this would be my signature style. I’ve been wearing white on white forever and this easy breezy short and wispy pretty shirt are so so good. Dress them up with a fun wedge and a bit of stacked gold and you have something that feels like a vacation. A very chic vacation that is. And of course, a bowl full of pretty white peonies would set the tone for such loveliness.
FLOWERS: Garden Sweet Peas and Peonies
I’m pretty sure this was the girls’ favorite combination. But it’s a girls outfit for sure. My husbands sort of looked at me funny, while the ladies wanted to snag it while I wasn’t looking. The pants are high-waisted floral print and I paired them with a fitted nude tank and a fabulous white blazer from Anthropologie. The florals that inspired this look felt feminine and yet structured, pretty and yet whimsical. We thought the flowers + the fashions = match made in heaven.

I have to really force myself to wear bright colors. But when I do, I fall in love. Every time. This yellow is all Summer. It’s great for a dinner out with friends or a backyard get together as it felt both casual and yet chic enough to hold its own. We gussied it up with a patent pump and a pretty J. Crew blingy kind of necklace and the result was happiness defined. Just like our foxglove + pennycress arrangement.

This is the kind of outfit that you want to own in every color possible. Because it’s comfortable. It’s effortless and it looks entirely pulled together. Much like the arrangement that inspired it. Pretty but totally at home in every setting.

I wear these jeans everywhere. Literally. I wore them in this CBS Sunday morning feature way back in the day and I still rock them at least twice a week. Paired with a high leather wedge and a boho style top and it’s a recipe for relaxed, chic, style. And the sweet arrangement from foret? It’s effortlessness defined.

So this dress is major. It’s crochet and quite heavy in the front, then light and gorgeous through the skirt. It feels expensive, it feels luxurious but there is also something casual about it that makes you want to wear it with flipflops or stilletos alike. And while it doesn’t mimic the flowers, the experience feels the same. Easy elegance.
