I truly don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite as lovely as this lavender luncheon, from Jen Fariello and Ashley Baber Weddings. Guests were greeted with a blackberry-champagne cocktail, and after being wined and dined, sent home with painted cookies (my dream!) Set amongst fields of lavender, this is a party I am truly sorry to have missed. And if you like what you see here, you’ll love the rest of the gallery.

From Jen… Set on an old tobacco plantation in rural Nelson County, enchanting Inglewood Lavender Farm opened in June 2012. Ten acres on the farm are dedicated to growing about 6500 lavender plants, each lovingly planted, pruned and harvested by hand.

This lavender inspired al fresco garden luncheon was a small gathering of wedding industry professionals from the local area. Guests were greeted with a blackberry-champagne cocktail, garnished with a sprig of lavender, as they strolled through the fragrant fields towards the luncheon table.

A quaint double farm table, set under the shade of a towering oak tree, was delicately set with a sheer overlay and arrangements of garden roses, white lavender and dusty miller. Plates were adorned with individual menus created for each guest.

The first course was a local ‘Appalachia star’ mixed green salad served with pickled vegetables and a pomegranate, molasses and lavender vinaigrette.

The second course was a fennel and mustard seed crusted salmon filet, served with lavender-orange hollandaise, roasted fingerling potatoes, and an edible flower and arugula salad.

Mini thumbprint cookies were served on a tiered silver tray as dessert. Each guest was sent home with a delicious cookie favor, painted with a sprig of lavender.
