Good morning SMPers! Do we ever have a treat for you… We’re here today sharing one of Tara Guerard‘s stunning interior design projects. Can we just take a quick second to look at those dining room details? Go ahead. I’ll wait…
Amazing, am I right? This entire home is completely and wholeheartedly right up my alley. The classic, timeless approach is one I’ll never, ever tire of. Beautifully captured by our beloved Corbin Gurkin , there’s more where this guy came from right here in the gallery.
From the homeowner… Tara Guérard has made a reputation in Charleston, SC and beyond for her spectacular wedding celebrations and the interesting ways in which she creates spaces for events large and small.
When I was looking to restore a historic home to create entertaining and living spaces my young family, I tapped Tara for a functional layout and her eye for creating clean, yet eclectic interiors.
Although the grand room was transformed, the renovation kept many of the home’s original details. A living room became the large kitchen with an island that opens to a family area and the formal living room was divided into vignettes for smaller conversation areas. For a family that frequently entertains, she created an space for entertaining and family dinners on the large outdoor piazza.
Tara kept many of the beautiful antiques owned by our family while peppering in a few contemporary furnishings and accessories that I would have never bought myself, but absolutely love.
For my daughters, who are twelve & fourteen, Tara met with the girls to collaborate on their room designs. For my youngest daughter, Tara created a cozy space with a custom canopy and bright palette and she couldn’t be happier with the results.
