Every good party needs a sweet little parting gift so that the kids (or grown-ups) can remember just how awesome of a party planner you really are. And these homemade chalk stars definitely do the trick. They not only tie into our chalk party theme perfectly, they also are a cinch to make and super duper cute.
Powdered tempura paint
Silicone star mold
Plaster of Paris
Homemade chalk stars label (download them here)
In a large liquid measuring cup, mix 1 cup water, 1 cup plaster of paris, and a few spoonfuls of powdered tempura paint (you can add more or less depending on your desired color). Stir thoroughly. You may need to mix with your fingers to squeeze any clumps out.
Pour mixture into the star mold (this should be exactly enough to fill all 6 stars).
Let dry about 1.5 hours before removing from the mold. Continue to dry on a cooling rack overnight.
Download & print the chalk stars label onto card stock paper. Use scissors to cut out each label. Place several stars in a cellophane bag with a label and tape closed.
