Located in the French Quarter, Kingsway is a legendary 12,000 square foot private residence designed beautifully by Los Angeles based LM Pagano, architect Wayne Troyer and owner Sean Cummings. During the 1990’s the property housed perhaps the most prolific recording studio in the world, Kingsway Studio, owned and operated by esteemed producer Daniel Lanois. Venerable names in the industry flocked here, among them U2, Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Pearl Jam, Peter Gabriel, R.E.M., Robbie Robertson, Sheryl Crow, Iggy Pop, Blind Melon, Cowboy Mouth and other respected artists.
Inspired by the home's rich history in the music industry, Valerie Gernhauser of Sapphire Events designed a jazz table top using retired brass instruments as vessels for the floral decor. The sleek and streamlined arrangement is substantial enough to stand on its own while keeping the lines clean and contemporary to honor these fathers' simple and sophisticated tastes.
We collaborated with Pigeon Catering to establish a menu for a intimate group of friends and family to break bread together. The cuisine is decidedly Southern with a nod to the home's location on historic Esplanade Avenue, starting with oyster tostado and crawfish cake sliders, an entree of seared duck breast, and finishing off with sweet potato pecan pie for dessert. The "Louis Armstrong" signature cocktail features St. Germain, bourbon and fresh mint for a twist on the traditional mint julep.

3. Add 4 ounces St. Germain, 2 ounces bourbon, and two splashes of club soda.
