When it comes to style bloggers, the lovely Paloma Contreras of La Dolce Vita sits nice and pretty in our blogroll, and understandably so. She’s a complete maven for fabulous fashion finds and stylish spaces, that we can’t stop staring. So when she agreed to let us peek into her gorgeous home, we sort of squealed with delight, especially since she’s just launched her new interior design + consulting firm. And not only that my dears, we are going Behind the Blog with Paloma tomorrow afternoon! I know. We can’t contain our excitement either! Until then we’ll be oogling over her beautiful home captured by Kate LeSueur Photography.
SMP: What is your favorite item in your home?
PC: Oh, this is a difficult question to answer! I really love how my house looks and feels right now and just about every item in our home is something that we genuinely love or has a story. This is like asking me to pick a favorite child. There are so many pieces that I LOVE—our bed, the lighting throughout our house, the vintage bamboo credenza in our entryway, our gorgeous new Greek key-trimmed curtains, I could keep going. Although they aren’t technically items, my favorite thing about my house is that I get to share it with my amazing husband, Fabian and our darling dog, Tate.
SMP: What color do you think will stand the test of trend time?
PC: It seems pastels are all the rage now as they were in the 80s, but I’ve never been very attracted to soft hues. I prefer more deeply saturated colors for my decorating work as well as my closet—indigo, coral, peacock blue, chocolate. Of course, you can never go wrong with the chic simplicity of black and white!
SMP: One thing every style savvy homeowner should have?
PC: Every space should have a good mix—vintage and modern, high and low, masculine and feminine.
