I’m seriously loving all of these creative bridal showers we’ve got going on (hello adorable brunch & build your own bouquet bar) and this French flea market inspired one is no exception! The prettiest shades of blues, adorable button-inspired favors, delicious food and nary a silly bridal game in sight really makes this event sing. Designed, styled and photographed by the talent that is Tara Whittaker, my only question is where do I sign up?! Per usual, there’s more inspiration in the gallery.
From Tara… The inspiration for this bridal shower came from a trip to Les Puces, the ultimate flea market, in Paris. I was completely taken by the beautiful collections of simple things – old fashion magazines, postcards, stamps and especially buttons. For this shower, we focused on buttons, notions and linens, all in shades of blue, the bride’s favourite colour. We used buttons on the invitations, pretty mismatched linens for the tables, spools of thread to hold the place cards, apothecary jars filled with buttons as centrepieces and button ginger snaps as favors.
The charming Cassis Bistro served as the perfect location for an intimate gathering of friends. Guests were encouraged to bring a favourite recipe to add to the couple’s repertoire. We took our cue from the bistro staff, who send each customer home with their infamous ratatouille recipe.
Bunches of flowers were gathered in mismatched containers, like one would see for sale on a sidewalk in Paris. Guests were encouraged to wrap a few stems of flowers in newspaper to take home. It was the perfect collection of girls, celebrating a friend’s future.
