As an avid traveller, I’m constantly on the hunt for cute boutique hotels in which to rest my weary head. Though I’ve had the pleasure of staying at a few notable locales, I have to admit that they’ve all palled in comparison to this one. Captured by Corbin Gurkin, this Charleston hotel is all that and a bag of chips. Zero George Street Hotel has paired Southern charm with classical, timeless decor at its very finest and I, for one, am fully on board. Don’t miss the rest of the gallery; there’s so much more pretty.
Zero George Street is Charleston’s first contemporary boutique hotel, established in five restored historic residential buildings, surrounded by landscaped courtyards. It consists of a blend of historic architecture, innovation, and well appointed suites with adjoining open-air furnished veranda terraces. The interior décor was a collaboration between Lynn Easton Andrews, the owner of Zero George and Easton Events, and Alana Woerpel.
The luxury design for our accommodation features top quality residential furnishings, a Contemporary-style bathroom design with wood floors, marble and tile showers, marble countertops, custom designed armoires and mini bars. The detailed restoration includes the original buildings’ classic architectural elements, including heart pine floors, high ceilings, period millwork details and private outdoor furnished verandas.
Our five historic buildings are in a classic Charleston private courtyard setting, with brick and bluestone paving, cast iron fountains, framed by rows of statuesque Royal Palm trees and rich garden plantings. At night, subtle moonlighting from the overhead trees light the courtyard and pathways.
