You know, it isn’t often that you’re introduced to a shop that is so picture-perfect you could almost cry with delight. One that contains items that have been hand selected, thoughtfully curated, tried, tested and true. Toss cushions and ceramics, quality furniture, fabulous jewelry, and curious odds and ends galore; there’s no shortage of fabulous finds at Manor Fine Wares.
As a mother-daughter duo, I’m extra-smitten by the fact that these two have traveled from China to Paris and back again to come up with the goods for their brick and mortar Portland shop. Established in 2007, they’ve combined their skills and talents to launch what can only be described as the most perfect of all perfect treasure hunts.
Liza, an interior designer at Manor Designs, and Liz, her mother, have traveled far and wide for both business and pleasure, and it shows in their varied tastes and passions. They firmly believe that if you love it, it will go. This design philosophy is evident both in the living portfolio that is Manor Fine Wares and in Liza’s design practice. With an eye for quality and style, they pick and choose the best from all corners of the design world; modern, baroque, rustic and clean lines all play well together in the shop and in their homes. They live and shop by one cardinal rule: if they don’t love it, it doesn’t come in. They love merchandising and problem solving with the store functioning as both living canvas and treasure trove.
