Even though we love our own e-inspiration board builder (you have to play with it as it just got a fun new makeover and it's um, awesome!), I often wonder if the art of a physical inspiration board will be lost amongst the masses. There's something to be said about flipping through your favorite magazine, ripping out a crisp, inspirational image and adding it to a collection of things that make you smile. A board that reminds you, every day, just how beautiful your world is. So here's our own version of an inspiration board - a love board if you will.
1 drop cloth
4 cork bulletin boards (picked up at IKEA or your local hardware store)
1 quart paint (we used Benjamin Moore Polo Blue)
1 sponge paint brush (to really get in the grooves)
Lay out your drop cloth and place your bulletin boards on top of it.
Paint each board using 2-3 coats of paint. The trick is to ensure you have thin even coats, and make sure each coat is fully dry before applying the next. We ended up pouring our paint into a small container and propping up our boards on our paint cans so that we could paint the edges as well.
Let dry over night, if possible.
Hang each board abut against one another to form one extra large board & pin to your hearts content! We included pics of our babies, sketches of gowns we had made, samples from our invitation line, quotes, tear outs from magazines and other little tidbits that make us smile.
