When I started Style Me Pretty more than 5 years ago, my daughter Audrey was just a dream. Now, she’s turning four years old and we’re planning another perfectly pink birthday party. It will be the first birthday that she has a say in and one that will most definitely be overflowing with princesses and sparkly, sparkly somethings. So before the chaos ensues in a couple of weeks, I thought I’d take a moment to share the lovely that was her third birthday…nearly a year ago. With just 2 little girls, a couple of crowns and some rainbow colored sprinkles. Sweet simplicity. And it really doesn’t get any better.

Some of you might remember Audrey’s 1st birthday (and here and here). We debuted it here on SMP and over on the Hostess Blog with fun DIY projects sprinkled in for good measure. We determined early on that Audrey was destined to be as pink obsessed as her mother and thankfully, the tradition stuck around. The child won’t leave the house unless every article of clothing down to her underwear is sporting that very hue. Her room is pink, her toys are pink, her books are pink. Her world is generally just a lovely shade of pink and I couldn’t be happier about it. So naturally, when it was time to host her third birthday party, we knew just where to start.

I tell myself that I am a believer in the 1 child for every year old they are when crafting the guest list. But the truth is, I just didn’t want to throw a huge party and all that comes with it so I opted for a sweet gathering with Audrey’s bestie Stella and Stella’s brother Cole. We had crowns made for the little girls by Maureen Cracknell on etsy, a fun little playhouse that was gifted to Audrey that morning, some knights & princess play with DIY ribbon wands that we gave the kiddos and a fun little cake decorating adventure. It was simple and honest and fun and Audrey fell asleep the happiest three year old on the planet that night.

Believe it or not, this party was a year ago. She’ll be turning 4 in a few weeks and we’re pulling together the details for her – you guessed it – pink party. Kari is shooting it again and I think the four year old party is going to blow the three year old party out of the pink freaking water.
