Everything has a way of working out… just sometimes on its own time schedule. But fate proved its point for this sweet couple by bringing them to Italy, a destination that they had only dreamed off. And while there, Rebecca Yale was able to capture anniversary pics to guarantee that these memories are never forgotten. Pretty amazing, right? If these pics don’t make you want to book a trip ASAP, it’s time to have your pulse checked dear friends – see them all right this way!
From Rebecca Yale… I had the pleasure of photographing Lotta and her husband Marcos’ first year anniversary photos around the charming cobblestone streets of Ravello, Italy. Lotta and I were in town working on a wedding together and fell in love with the beautiful town on the Amalfi coast known for its ceramics and limoncello and knew it would be the perfect spot for an anniversary session with her husband. We spent a beautiful fall morning exploring the 9th Century pedestrian-only town set into the mountains above the Amalfi Coast.
From Lotta of Mint Design… Fate is a funny thing. Since the time we got engaged, Marcos and I were set on going to Italy for our honeymoon. Both so in love with everything Italian – the views, the culture, the history, the food, the wine, the endless possibilities of exploring. Italy was our ideal place. As life has it, we were thrown an unbelievable curveball and just shy of our one year wedding anniversary, we found the home of our dreams. But, what comes along with the home of your dreams, are financial obstacles. First thing to go was our dream honeymoon in Italy. Although we were sad, we were extremely grateful for this new chapter in our lives.
Fast forward a few months, we were finally settled in our new home and I was in the midst of planning and designing three big fall weddings. One day I received a text message from my dear friend Rebecca Yale. We had met via Instagram and had collaborated on a photoshoot a few years back. Rebecca’s text came completely out of the blue. “Hey what are you doing the week of October 17th?” I wrote her back and we quickly decided to chat on the phone. Rebecca had recruited me to floral design a rehearsal dinner and wedding in Ravello, Italy. Mind blown. After many details were mulled over, I found myself booking flights for my husband and I to Italy. A dream come true. To work and enjoy Italy for a business trip was something I never imagined would happen. Truly such a blessing.
Fast forward to the days right before the trip to Italy, Rebecca and I texted and texted and texted some more. We threw out the idea of an impromptu anniversary session while we were already in the most romantic place on earth. The morning of the rehearsal dinner, we put on our outfits we had brought with us all the way from California – hubby looked quite dapper! I, however, was excited and nervous and stressed about timing and the rehearsal dinner florals. But once Rebecca had us in front of the camera, all the nerves went away and we were able to just be us. Ravello will always have a very special place in our hearts.
