We’ve been wowed by our fair share of at-home weddings here on SMP and today’s backyard soiree from Glow Event Design and Verite Photography is no exception to our excitement. All we needed to hear was ‘mint + yellow’ and we were sold. And then there’s the stunning Bride done up pretty by Skyla Arts, who steals the show in her Watters sweetheart dress. There’s so much to love and it’s all right here.
From Glow Event Design… We’ve all seen Father of the Bride, and many will agree it’s the ultimate dream at-home wedding. Berkeley and Steve decided to make that dream a reality and held their wedding at the beautiful home in Kentfield, California. We worked with the couple to create a romantic, vintage-style theme which featured a color palette of soft blue, yellow and cream and eclectic decor details. An organic, locally sourced menu was important to them, so we teamed up with a farm-to-table style caterer who purchased ingredients from the local farmer’s market. Flowers included gorgeous yellow peonies, lily of the valley and fresh herbs to tie back to the farmer’s market menu. Their ceremony was held in the side yard under a rustic chuppah made of birth and wild flowers. Paper fans were placed at each seat to keep guests cool in the sunshine. Afterwards guests followed a brick pathway which took them to the pool area where they enjoyed jasmine-infused signature cocktails and live music from a folk band. In leu of gifts, the couple asked for donations towards their favorite charity. We set up a “Giving Tree” where guests could write their names on tags to represent their contribution. Decor included floating flowers in the pool, and vignettes featuring large vintage-style frames, eclectic candles and floral blooms. During cocktail hour, the many kids in attendance were entertained by the property’s putting green and a fun photo booth complete with dress-up props. Later in the evening guests moved to the front of the property for dinner and dancing under a clear tent, keeping the beautiful house as the backdrop. Dessert included a tiered, yellow square wedding cake decorated with sweet blue birds and large floral blooms, as well as a creme brûlée station and a chocolate fountain for the kids. At the end of the evening, guests were sent home with jars of local wild honey.
