I’m going to let you in on a little secret. We may gush over flowers, and we may get giddy over tablescapes. We may swoon at the sight of a bride in a ball gown and reach for a tissue when we spot the perfect pair of shoes. But the most special ingredient in every wedding… the ingredient we adore from the very beginning… is the love. It’s the most important element, and the element that makes the whole wedding just be. And with talented folks like Almond Leaf Studios capturing it all, it’s the element that makes me the happiest to have such a wonderful job. Soon after Jody proposed in Asheville, NC in February 2011, we knew that we wanted to get married there as well. We love the unique, friendly atmosphere and the beauty surrounding the city and wanted our wedding to be a fun destination for our friends and family. Besides a few tough decisions on vendors, the wedding planning process couldn’t have been easier. We chose The Venue because of its vintage feel, delicious food and magnificent owner/operator. There were a few DIY projects involved in the preparation as well, and I have to thank my bridesmaids and now husband for their assistance with the guest book, favor boxes, framed table numbers and photos of our parents, grandparents and bridal party on their wedding day. Our vision for our wedding was a sophisticated yet warm environment and I feel grateful that we were able to work with such imaginative minds to create our perfect day.

Our wedding day was everything that we had hoped and planned for, from the first look and nontraditional ceremony to the amazing band and dancing throughout the night. There were even a few unforeseen moments- the last thing that I expected was to be serenaded by our fabulous officiant! We have so many great memories from this experience and I am so thankful to Almond Leaf Studios for the beautiful photos that will allow us to relive our wedding day forever!
