Chicago Wedding at Fulton’s on the River from Evan Hunt Photography

This wedding? This Bride? These images from Evan Hunt Photography? They all completely took my breath away. And I couldn’t be happier about it. It’s the type of feature where I find myself clicking through the gallery over and over, each time finding another reason to fall head over heels in love with every moment. It’s pure wedding magic unfolding right before my very eyes, and you can see what I mean right here.

From the bride… We classified our wedding as “traditional with a unique twist,” because that is precisely our style and we wanted to reflect that in our wedding. Connor and I love music, art, and being creative, but at the same time we wanted to stick to a traditionally elegant wedding. Everything from the save the dates, to the ceremony music, to the reception venue was classy with a creative flair. We couldn’t be happier with the result.

From Evan Hunt Photography… Hannah and Connor were a pleasure to work with from the start. Their patience, demeanor and complete love for each other absolutely shines through their photographs and we couldn’t have been happier to be a part of their celebration. Their style was a blend of traditional with a modern and unique twist and it complimented the celebration of their love for each other perfectly.

Classic Chicago Wedding from Maypole Studios + SQN Events

Spring is in full-force and Summer temps have most definitely been creeping our way (it’s already been 102 degrees in my neck of the woods), so spending the day basking in some Winter wedding goodness? The perfect way to kick off the week.  And when that Winter wedding goodness includes classic details with a glamorous twist, even better.  Because a sophisticated soiree planned by the fabulous team at SQN Events and captured by the ever-wonderful Maypole Studios always, always equals some major pretty. See it all in the full gallery.

From the Bride… On a brisk 20 degree day in February, we tied the knot in downtown Chicago.  Playing off location and time of year, the wedding took classic yet sparkly approach to decor.  The entire goal was to make everyone feel warm even though it was frigid outside.  We achieved this through a simplistic color palette of black, white, and a pop of purple.  Past that, everything was ‘blinged’ out.

The wedding party began the day getting glamorous at the Westin.  Hair was done, makeup was perfected, and men suited up.  Despite the sun shining, sub-freezing temperatures kept the bridal party inside at Union Station and the Cultural Center to get shots in some of Chicago’s most scenic buildings.  Luckily we were able to brave the cold for a few pictures on Lasalle in front of the Board of Trade.

After pictures, we became man and wife in a beautiful traditional Jewish Wedding Ceremony in front of 190 of our friends and family.  The party raged on to the beats of Rendezvous!  Everyone was out of their seats and enjoying the party.  The group got together for a lively Horah where we, both mothers and both sisters got lifted up in the chair!  The night ended with a heartwarming rendition of Piano man with the entire wedding making a circle around us.

It was freezing outside but the wedding was full of love and warmth!

Rain on your wedding day may not be on the top of the list of things you hope as your big day approaches, but just one look at this chic Chicago soiree captured by Cristina G Photography and you might reconsider. Because the drizzle did nothing but make for some epic shots these two will treasure forever, and I’ll go as far as to say it made their gorgeous day that much more gorgeous. From Cristina G Photography… Lindsay and John’s wedding was a celebration filled with love, laughter and spring showers. They were prepared for anything the day may bring and they were going to embrace it. I asked Lindsay while she was getting ready how she felt about taking pictures in the rain. She did not hesitate to say yes. Wholeheartedly. She cared about her memories more than about the dress, the cold, the rain… anything. As long as she had her love by her side, that is all that mattered. I took that and ran away with it! Music to a photographer’s ears. We all had matching umbrellas for the bridal party and I brought my favorite vintage 1920′s umbrella for the bride and groom. Very useful accessories as the sun gave way to the clouds and rain just as we approached the lake for our first picture location.
