Over are the days of afternoon tea celebrations or New Year’s Eve surprise weddings. Hosting your wedding at a local coffee shop? Now that’s original! This next wedding by Samantha Simmons Photography is as sweet as pie . . . Bang Bang Pie to be exact. From the moment I saw BHLDN‘s incredible assortment of wedding dresses I couldn’t wait to start seeing them pop up on SMP brides and this one is absolutely stunning! From Samantha Simmons Photography… Sean is a Kansas City native, and Liz is from Texas. They met in Chicago and fell in love with each other and their neighborhood. They both live in Logan Square, a wonderful vibrant neighborhood in Chicago. The wedding was on a rainy day where the forecast showed no signs of letting up. The ceremony took place in their local coffee shop, Bang Bang Pie, where string bulbs and lanterns decorated the backyard. Minutes before the ceremony was to start, the rain magically stopped and the sun came out strong and beautiful. After a touching and sweet ceremony outdoors, guests where treated to slices of pie and coffee. Family friends played music for the guests outdoors while the bride and groom milled about.
Heading to the reception, the bride and groom surprised their parents with pedicabs to take them to their next destination. The newlyweds, however, rode their bikes which was extremely fitting (and quite impressive in such a beautiful wedding dress!). The reception was held at a local brewpub in Chicago called Revolution Brewing. There was beer, pretzels, and more beer while all of the guests chatted with each other. The speeches and dancing went long into the night. This wedding was by far one of the most intimate and magical weddings I have ever been lucky enough to be a part of. Everything, from the handmade, Chicago-themed coffee wedding favors to the family photos around the bar, was very special to see.
