From Hannah of Hannah Persson Photo… A wintery lovebird-themed wedding at the magical Blumen Gardens in Sycamore, Illinois. This venue is becoming increasingly popular due to its hour drive from Chicago and its very reasonably priced accommodations — not to mention its quirky and fun edifices. It truly is a secret garden — there are so many nooks and crannies, and they let you wander anywhere you want for prime and unique picture-taking. The details stole the day. The table centerpieces were handcrafted. Before the wedding, the bride had a party, inviting all of her friends over to join in and help with the wedding craft-making. Each vase was wrapped in twine, and individual sticks were cut and glued onto each candle holder. The cupcake toppers were handmade to look like the bride and the groom. For the table favors, the bride fashioned birdseed into hearts using starch and water. On the backs of the cute scrap paper on the tables, the guests were instructed to give wedding advice that the bride would then string together as her guest book. The cupcakes were of all sorts and varieties — carrot, chocolate  and white — and were made by a friend. The bride’s dress was purchased from BHLDN. The bridesmaids each purchased their own navy dresses, adding to the whimsical feel of the day. The flowers in the bridesmaids’ hair were made by a friend of the bride, who has a shop on Etsy. The photo booth was provided by Blumen Gardens. It was simply an adorable little overhang, and the bride picked her own props for it. All in all, it was a perfect day.
