Good morning you darlings of wedding goodness. We have such a treat for all of you modern brides out there that are desperate for a little modern inspiration. And it comes to us in the form of what just might be the most beautiful wedding on earth. Fully aware that I am like the girl that cried wedding when I say things like that but this time…it’s so true. Designed by Chicago based Dettagli Weddings, with photographs by the beloved Erin Hearts Court and styling by the fab Hello Darling, this wedding is everything. So in the words of one of our loyal readers…”stick me with a fork because I am done!!” See it all here.

From Dettagli WeddingsGabrielle and Nick are the quintessential Chicago couple, with roots planted in the city from childhood (they actually met in high school!), but have since traveled the globe, lived from coast to coast (NYC, San Francisco!) and managed to bring a little bit of all of their history to their stunning Art Institute of Chicago wedding. The venue was a no-brainer: Gabby studied art history and worked at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in NYC, and the modern wing reflected the contemporary style of both their family homes. From there, it was honing in on the incredibly thoughtful and sweet details that they wanted to incorporate, along with styling their event to reflect their modern style, which we coined “simple and hip.”

With the help of Natalie from Hello Darling, we created a stunning day that celebrated Gabby and Nick’s incredible style, heritage and life together. We pulled together the colors that Gabby liked: Black, white and gray, and gave them a bit more life with soft pinks and dusty purples. The bride loved the clean lines of the art institute and wanted to reflect that style in her printable and day-of materials. From the cutie G+N on top of the cake, to the sharp, glowing table numbers, as well as menus, placecards and programs that the bride designed herself (printed by Magnificent Milestones), the architecture from the venue translated to the perfect day-of materials.

Amidst all of the meaningful details (French macaroons from Vanille Patisserie at each spot to pay homage to the time the couple spent living in Paris, an engraved Magnum of their favorite Iron Horse sparkling wine from Sonoma, the family Tallit!), the love in the room with the families and friends was electrifying. The dance floor was packed (Toast and Jam DJs!), the photobooth was bumping all night with hilarious photos (Magbooth) and the toasts were sensational. Erin Hearts Court magnificently captured it all and managed to really showcase how much happiness and love was in that stylish room in June.

I LOVED working with Gabby and Katie from Dettagli to create a look that was modern, soft, and packed with personal touches. Gabby had TONS of personal style and was so thoughtful about what she and Nick loved collectively. I loved going through that creative journey with her so that I could intertwine what was most important to them in every way I could. Having a chance to work with Erin Hearts Court was a total thrill as well. I've really loved checking out their amazing SMP features and was so excited to see what they would capture for Gabby and Nick. Cheers to this fabulous couple and many thanks to SMP for showcasing this unique day!

The dress is Vera Wang's "Ethel". I thought about wearing it for my wedding, but this dress makes an appearance on this blog like every other day. We SMP girls have great taste!

BRILLIANT! The Scabiosa pods on the cake, the cookie cutter cake toppers (ingenious and what a great memento), the Anemone and Succulents in the bouquets...her gown and black shoes and black belt...the photography and lighting. This wedding is amazing!

I love this modern feeling wedding. The black sash and shoes for the bride are gorgeous, the photography is stunning, I especially love the wedding florals...black and white anemones, scabiosa pods, peonies, succulents, and all the other flowers create a perfect feel. Very nice work to all the vendors and congratulations to the couple!
